I was talking to my mechanic today, and he reckons he can get me this set (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VN-GROUP-A-KIT-VB-TO-VP-330-MM-TWIN-SPOT-CALIPER_W0QQitemZ130011856712QQihZ003QQcategoryZ29700QQcmdZViewItem) for $660, or he can get me Skyline brake upgrade kit, 4 piston calipers, (I dont know from what model??) for $1200. To people who know/used both brake sets, do you think the 4 spotters would be worth that extra $540? for a VL thats just running a stock RB25det? If you had the spare cash, would you go the 4 spotters? And is $1200 an alright price?

Ive just put 4 pot RX7 calipers and VLT rotors on mine and man what a difference! $1200 for the Skyline 4 potters is a fair price as long as thats for the full conversion.

Just for street use the VT upgrade with good discs and pads are great, If your going to use it for anything else track days and stuff get the biggest *******s you can afford. In saying that my VT ones work well at the track but I want bigger.

So if I just want an upgrade for a street VL, you reckon the VTs or VN Group A's do the job great?

Yeah they are great get slotted discs at least though, or get slotted and blind drilled discs, dont get them drilled all the way through they can crack.

For the price you spend on a VT conversion ($480 - Ebay) you might as well spend a little bit more and go for RX7 calipers with VLT rotors ($780)

Do the RX 7 calipers bolt straight up? And how much better are they?

They bolt up with brackets which are available from VHR32. They are a 4 piston caliper compared to the 2 piston on the VT and don't flex like the VT ones do. I've been running them for ages now and they work really well, especially around the track.

I agree with Ryan, RX7 calipers with the mounting kit from VHR32 (Matt) is definitely worth it. The price I gave ($780) is what I paid all up using these brackets, VLT rotors and QFM RB2 pads, all supplied by Matt. I picked up a pair of freshly rebuilt and sandblasted calipers for $350, which is a bit steep but I saved on postage in the long run as I got them locally. The mounting kits from Matt I might add are top notch and include absolutely everything needed for the conversion.

If you do decide to go the Group A kit as it is very good just check the price and the product see if they are the C4 caliper because $660 is half the price they are.Don't spend money on a VT upgrade a 330mm upgrade will be a better investment.
