Hey guys my system consists of 4 speakers and a sub... Now my amp(a) is running my sub and front speakers but wen i connect another amp(b) to run the rear speakers the sound just dies out and the power light on amp (a) dims very low..
the second amp(b) is connected with the power and remote wires going to the 1st amp(a) and the ground/negative wire is connected seperately to a screw on the body...
how do i fix this problem?
Thnx in advance..
Jim
by the sounds of things you'l need a distribution block bout $20 from any car audio retailer power goes to that then off on 2 separate power cables to each amp.. also what gauge is ya power cable? might not be big enough to run the both of them depending on how big each amp is as for remote it should be fine daisy chained off amp a as it is
its 8 gauge i think
ive tried hooking up just the one amp for the back speakers and theres still no sound... the fan and power light work but theres no sound... could the amp be screwed?
wen i hook up the amp for the front speakers and the sub, it all works but wen i play it at high volume for minimum 5 secs the sound begins to crackle and if i leave it it gets worse and worse... ive also noticed that wen the car is on idle and the system is cranking that the volt meter drops from 14v to under 12v and then it begins to crackle again...
Wats going on? wats the problem with my system? and how can i fix it?
Thanx for the help in advance
Jim
Yeah, as s200vl said, you will need to get a power distribution which has a single input and 2 outputs to run seperate power wires to two amps, both of which run off their own fuse (still need inline fuse 30cm from battery though).
You will need to run a thicker power cable from the battery to the distro block. Maybe 4guage, and then use your 8guage to run from distro box to your two amps.
Run their own earth wires (30 cm of 8 guage) to the body (giving the contact points a good sanding to remove any rust, paint etc)
Use your existing remote wire (blue) and then at the end of it join 2 more lengths to run to each amp.
And you should be sweet!
he got it back though http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showth...79#post1086979 (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?p=1086979#post1086979)
