did all two tone vl calais turbo/na come with bottom half asteroid silver, or did some come out with a darker grey? if so which ones?

And to add to the above, did any come out in single tone?

there is a maroon over champaign , and as for one colour they did as my mate had an all white one but iam not sure on any of the other colours but i think it might of been an option back from factory .

I'd say all the ones with grey down the bottom would be resprays, I think you could only get it all one colour or get it over silver or get it over champaign with a maroon car (which is very very classy).

Nah the above comment isnt true. There is quite a few colour variations on the bottom half, some are extremely rare etc. There was a few 1 colour calais, i think just about any colour was available (correct me if im wrong)

Factory VL Calais' that I've seen: * (Colour)/Silver * (Colour)/Dark Grey * (Colour)/Colour coded match * (Colour)/Champagne That is all. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah there are plent with the darker grey on the bottom, espeacially silver cars themselves came with the darker grey

yup, i think aslo burgandy came out in a darker grey

not only did they make the maroon vlc's with champagne but also a mulberry colour over champagne. only 180 were made that colour

For 1986 it is a little difficult to say what colours went together. For 1987 the following colours had the Asteroid lower half: Maranello red, Alpine white, Asteroid silver, Eucumbene blue, Morning blue, Venetian red. The following colours had the Opal Fire lower half: Wild mulberry. The following colours had the Pale Bronze lower half: Kimberley bronze. For 1988 the following colours had the Asteroid lower half: Maranello red, Alpine white, Asteroid silver, Marlin blue, Cardinal red, Imperial blue. The following colours had the Opal Fire lower half: Mink, Wild mulberry. The following colours had the Pale Bronze lower half: Platinum gold.
