I have just replaced close to all suspension components in my wagon. I have Pedders VRD in the front and Monroe GT Gas in the back. No real reason for having them different. Very happy with both, the setups about 1000km old and I guess only time will tell the difference as to which was a better choice. Alot of people complain about Monroe GT Gas but you've gotta remember alot of people say alot without knowing squat. Anyway from my experience they're fine, feel firm, work as they are supposed to, no complaints.
Must recommend one wagon upgrade though, the only one I am missing but not for long: Bigger rear sway bar! The back really feels to have alot of influence on body roll in mine. I have Kings Superlows.
EDIT: So yeah, got my GT Gas rears for $100 cash. Comes with new bushes and nuts. Installed myself, REALLY REALLY easy.

I have Kings Superlows.
My Monroe GT Gas fronts collapsed with Kings Superlows after 40,000 kays. Then, as a result of the f*cked shocks, the bearing plates got bashed to bits. I rang Monroe directly and was told that nothing in their range was suitable to be used with such high spring rates, not even their "performance" AGX shocks. I then went on to ring almost every other shock manufacturer in Australia (KYB, Gabriel, Boge, etc etc) and was told the exact same thing. I eventually settled with Pedders GSR's all round (9750 front, 9094 rear) as they (according to my research) are the only non-adjustable shock that is capable of handling such a spring.
I guarantee you that your Monroe's will be the best shocks you have ever driven on in terms of handly ability and comfort, for the short time they last before failing internally. I will never buy another Monroe product.

ordered the konis, pitty they only have a std for a wagon and not a sports...
would the valving be the same as a sedan? or do you think they would have gone to the effort of setting it up specifically for the wagon?

I'd say the konis will be same valving, the reds are quite soft, so dont even bother with the first half of adjustment, id be starting at 2/3rds approx and go up as required from there. pity they dont have the sports, because the bump valving is a lot better.
