i recon there would be 10 thousand of these threads, and all go to one simple rule: Manual for show - Auto for go. Do a search, Daz

If you're looking to beat the lancer in a traffic light grand prix, go for an auto.

what is better for power and acceleration? technically a manual is better for power as there is less lost through the gearbox. but an auto is better for acceleration as it holds boost over the gearshifts. accelerating is like one big burst of torque rather than lots of short ones. you'll find everyone disagrees on this one, but personally after having both I prefer a manual.. i find the autos too laggy and doughy and they make VLT's consume so much fuel its just ridiculous.

natho is spot on the money. for the street, manual vlt all the way. if ur into dragging and 1/4 times then go auto and yes an auto and big stall saps plenty of fuel up!

Thats why you dont need such a big stall.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

If ur looking to go 400m in a straight line the fastest you possibly can--Auto. If you drive your car on pieces of road longer than 400m and go around corners, Want to drive the car and not just sit there and steer----Manual.

i got an auto I dont mind either way really auto is good because I'm lazy. also....... depends on how powerfull the car is too... anything under, say, 180rwkw....... definitly manual I reckon, otherwise theres too much power loss manual is great to have more control over the car though....

with big power auto is easier to drive. no clutches to drop, touchy throttle etc.

lol dave, touchy throttle? Usually 'big power' cars have sloppier throttle response I say auto if you want to do the times and or if you love doing big burnouts And manual if you just wanna have fun Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Auto for Quick Steet stuff and straight line ...definatly manual if you want to drive it open road and hills... Big powered Autos are pretty hairly up through hills as the kick back and the stall can surprise you..... thats why not many turbo sports cars released are Automatic ...

thats so ironic we bag the **** outta auto skylines lol but then we prefer auto vls... im the same, id rather drive a manual skyline than a manual vl for some reason.

i had an auto vlt,now ive got a manual vl.i think that auto vls are definetly better unless..... you have a skyline box.cause vl manual boxes are ****,whether the be mf5 or mx7.for a street car.for something that goes fast, good built auto, with a stall to match the size of the turbo.

manual for everyday street driving, more fun, more control. auto for big power, easier to drive. dont stand a chance from a standing start against a decent auto
