Hey guys, was wondering if anyone has run a twin turbo setup on a standard 304 and if the standard motor would handle a low 9-10lb of boost? I know it would require fuel and ECU upgrades. Anyone know anything about TT V8s??

Theres a thread in here about it. Theres no kits available, make your own. They'd handle 10psi comfortably with fuel and injectors and ecu done. Theres not alot of info about it. Have a read through my 'turbo 308' thread below somewhere.

OK thanks, I was thinking of this setup: GT35/40R's, intercooler, Heltech, big injectors, pumps and serge tank on my standard injected 304 running 8-10lb boost

they r big turbos to be running twins with... i would think ull shoot a rod
mb you could run twin t3's or something with standard internals...
my vl just made 186rwkw with only 6psi with a gt35/40..

I'm guessing thats on a 3L not an injected V8?

yeah its only on a 3L, being on the v8 would be overkill on a std motor, ull have 1400hp worth of turbos and using 10% of it.. overkill if you ask me, go for a gt25 or 28 or soemthing.. it'll be more responsive, give u the power your chasing and be heaps streetable..
good luck with it though.. post up pics if it ever goes ahead..

Yip will do, thanks. Anyone know what sort of power I will be getting out of 8-10lb of boost with GT25's or 28's?

nearly 600hp easy... be a **** of a job fabricating the exhaust manifolds though... and gt28s arent cheap.. better off using 2 t3/t4s or just a nice big single

yea im planning on a single turbo setup to do in ayear or two and it seems the way to go costwise, how easy and end result

Wheres the best place to mount a big single and should an intercooler be used?

19-07-06, 10:29 GMT+10#12 i believe they prefer to mount the big singles to the front right hand side of the bay if your looking at it fornt on. Big single is the way to go, i would start off with the gt35/40r as a single turbo set up for a standard motor, 15psi would see you dip over 450hp easy i reckon
check out apr / may edition of street machine, theres a big single turbo set up in there.. will give you good ideas

19-07-06, 13:07 GMT+10#13 a standard motor wouldnt handle 15psi. Id be wary wynding it up to 10!

19-07-06, 14:32 GMT+10#14 there is a guy over here with a single to4z on a vn 5ltr all standard internals and over 300 000km's it makes just under 400hp at the tyres on around 10 psi from memory and uses a remapped delco
it's been runnin around like that for a few years now as it's a daily car his missus drives into the city everyday

Do you know if this guy has other mods like twin throttle manifold, cam, head etc?

19-07-06, 15:03 GMT+10#17 Id also like to know what else. Boost would come on low which would be good, but i dont know how 300rwkw is attainable on 10psi, it just wouldnt flow enough air for it. Its like a VLT doing 220rwkw on 6psi!

19-07-06, 15:27 GMT+10#18 as far as i know it's a standard cam and heads bigger injectors and thats about it!! 10 psi is alot of boost for one of them in standard form any more and id say it will turn inside out!
im pretty sure street commodores or perth street car did a feature on it a while back, i'll try find it....it's a full sleeper
to give ya an idea my 355 makes 700@wheels on 10 psi, boost pressure has nothing to do with flow
