the jaycar amp??? i got one in my car now... reliable yes havent had a problem with it, seems like a well constructed amp and has a juicy heat sink... problem is, its rated at 150watts x 2 and even mags have tested it and in fact it produces even more power but i dunno if its just me but its the weakest 150watts ive ever used... gimme a few days to play around and i might change but until then it doesnt even come close to the cadence that it replaced which was rated at the same power!

yeh i've got them in my car atm runnin the 800wrms monoblock and 4 channel 50wrms amp for me speakers. The monoblock is runnin 2 mtx 12" 200wrms woofers in parallel. These amps are extremely good bang for buck. I've had them in me car for over 6 months now and haven't had any troubles at all with them. Due to leaking tail lights and my boot install too i exposed to real high humidity and even got them wet and they still go perfect. I can't fault them. As for the weakest 150wrms comment, fiddle with ya setting sman I'm sure u'll get it goin right. Espescially ya input sensitivity, If thats wrong it'll be quiet as. Cheers mate, hope it helps -smurf

I've also got one of the 800wrms monoblocks, it runs my kicker 12".. it is definitely the best value amp.. its basically 50c per 1wrms.. try and find a better deal.

Quality over quantity is the go, most pros will tell you. EG a Digital Designs M2 amp 1,700RMS will cost you $1,000RRP and a Response 1,500RMS will cost you $700RRP. If you're building a quality system 9/10 audio places (if they're any good) will say go for the DD. BUT Response, I've heard, are still great bang for buck. I want to power a DD 3512d sub which takes 1600RMS for music and 3,200RMS for burbs. I'm thinking 2x Jaycar 1500RMS amps are the way to go coz cheep, effective and if 2 of them are sharing the load between them then there should be no probs. anyone got jaycar 1500 that can recommend it?

I've got the old series 2x150(black) and 4x50(blue) and the new series 2x80(brushed metal). Love them all. No problems either. As said before, good bang for buck, just not as 'pretty' My 2x80 is bridged to 1x200 running the old Jaycar Venom 15' sub. Sounds good.

over at www.caraudioaustralia.com (http://www.caraudioaustralia.com) you'll get vairied oppinions. some swear by them others think they are meh. I've had the pleasure of using these amps along side with PG, PPI, Audison, Alpine V12, SS etc. and I can tell you that they are an amp that will power stuff. how well they do it is another question. The monoblocks which I havent used seem to have a good reputation - all but the "first batch" had noise issues. as for the 2 and 4 channel amplifiers lets just say they arent as well engineered as some others. Just because Jaycar / Precision Responce isnt a very well known brand that makes reasonable power dont think that you cant get the same or better specs from a well known brand at the same price...
