How you going guys....... Just after a few opinions about this walky for sale. (Link Below) Build Number 26 Claiming to have only done 15,000K Im looking for an really low k walky at the moment, but am just a little sceptical on how legit these k's are looking at a few of the photo's of the car. But more importantly if the car is actually original or not. (cant see any id tags under the bonnet) Car seems very suss to me....... Im just after some opinions, or if anyone actually knows the car........ Cheers http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/...s/1736106.aspx (http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/HSV/WALKINSHAW/New%20South%20Wales/1736106.aspx)

Only things I thought looked odd... - Those odd marks on the glove box. Looks like it's been on and off the car a bit? - Footwell carpet looks worn and there's a fair bit of wear on the pedal rubbers (for 15,000KMs that is) - And with NO TAGS at all...how could you expect to get 45K?

could just be the photo or the light, but the boot looks a different colour in that last shot.. and i cant see the hsv tag under the bonnet either.. for such an 'original and immaculate' car, you'd think it would have logbooks, etc.. but the seller doesnt mention any books/paperwork.. seems suss to me too..

He claims that the car is completely original. But there is in fact no ID plates on the car. He said that it was stolen from the previous owner and they knocked of the ID plates aswell as the glovebox ID and logbooks. But has since got HSV to re-issue the glovebox ID but they cant re-issue the ID / compliance plates for obvious reasons. He is not sure what happened to the glove box as he claims that was like it when he bought it. Everything else is completely original besides the tyres which he changes when he bought it cause they were severly flat spotted from storage of the previous owner he said. Even if this is all true, there is no real history on the car (without logbooks) and surely wouldnt be worth as much without the ID/compliance plates What yous think?????

He has the tags, tey were on the back seat, IMHO, I would be Goign to see the thing in person, getting build chassis and engine numbers and running them all past HSv and making sure it was all legit before Dropping 45k on a VL. FO all accounts it looks original, Like I said the tags were on the back seat next to the build sheet http://tcimages.net/DisplayImage.aspx?PD=9644885&S=ISS right there above the sheet.... Although he did claim he didnt have them sooo.

I suppose you've got to ask yourself, how are you going convince someone else in ten years time that the car is original? Possibly if the price was right, sure why wouldn't you buy it then. I'm sure that this guy couldn't have been stupid enough to have pay top dollar either, and nor should you be expected to!

when i see a walky (or a brockie, hsv, or whateva) without tags, the first thing i think is "reshell"

Maybe the missing tag he is refering to is the one on the drivers side of firewall and the compliance plate. The one on the seat is only a build number tag and the scuffing around the glovebox could be from excessive use.The cover on my steering collum has the same effect.

Untouched original yet stolen from previous owner. That should be enough info not to trust the seller. I thought all you Walkinshaw owners would have noticed that the build plate does not belong to a VL. Try a VS onwards build plate. Maybe a reissued one with the Walky details. Corsa

I know what you're saying Corsa, thats what i meant about I.D plate is on the drivers side and the compliance plate-the car is worth less without these two tags. The build number plate in the pic doesn't have any details about the actual car except build number(same as glovebox tag).I'ld be surprised if it sells for anything over $30000.

I'd be suprised if it sells full stop. But as said above get the VIN number, chassis number etc, and go straight to HSV and i think they should be able to tell you from there...

It should sell...but just not at that asking price.
