i dont like walky replica's, they loose the charm that the original have, although i don't think its a problem that people build and sell them... it only proves how desirable an original is and makes it even more special to own an 'original' walky.

As long as they are stated as replicas then I dont see a problem... but then again if someone is stupid enough to buy a walkie without doing any research into them then they have too much money and not enough brains Daz oh and do i like fake walkies - depends how fake it looks... those I see as "meh... close but not close enough to waste whatever price they are asking for it" Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I remember a couple of years ago down the Gold Coast there was alot of fake ones getting around in different colours. It was good to see what a Walky would have looked like in a colour other than the original but you knew they were fakes.I hate it when you tell someone you own a Walky and they ask what colour........

Each to their own I suppose... Still can't beat the original colour though.

I don't mind them, provided that they are not the original colour.....

Or when someone ask what type of car you own and when you tell them a Walkinshaw they then say what's that?

i dont mind them. I remember seeing a very good one here in townsville. it looked exact. the interior as well. didnt have the twin throttle bodies though. I say who cares, as long as they dont try sell them as originals. Not everybody can have an original, so let them have the next best thing

I've got nothing against fake Walkys-makes the real ones more popular but i don't like it when someone uses the same interior and paint colour so you think its one till closer inspection.I understand not everyone can afford one as i had to wait till i was 25 for insurance(couldn't justify paying $2000+ a year). As i've stated before its good to see a VL with Walky kit in different colours-use to be a black one here in Ipswich with a chevy, looked and sounded tough.

yeah, as long as not panorama silver, or close to that, and not the same interior, Im all for em... Benno's gold walky (GOLD RUSH) is a perfect example of how to do a walky replica... gold paint, complete velour black interior, and injected 304 motor.... Here's the link... www.walkinshaw.net/replicas/benno/index.html (http://www.walkinshaw.net/replicas/benno/index.html)

I built a "fake" one cos I wanted to do my own thing, paint, engine, wheels, etc etc. Could have bought a mint original for the amount that I have spent on my Calais! http://www.walkinshaw.net/replicas/alex

Hey Alex, Good to see you on here I quite like your car. Haven't seen that colour before. Have you made any changes to your car? If so email them to me, and I'll update it on walkinshaw.net Cheers, Craig Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Decided to change direction a bit, going to rip the stereo and back seat out and go with a couple of race seats and full cage instead Will send through some pics for walkinshaw.net soon Cheers Alex Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Im a "fakie" owner...i guess you can see what it looks like in black by my avatar! Although i've got new rims since then! I love the Walky...greatest car of all time and was released when i was only 4! As you can well guess i've never even come close to having the money to afford a real one...but wanted one SO bad. Replica was the way to go, and it works for me...i love my car. But i agree...ppl who try and rip off the genuine walky's are cheap! Especially when they change all the interior and dont tell you till you pick it up yourself!

heres another one on carsales-even the interior looks like an original Walky. At least they have the courtesy to say in the ad its a fake.I'm all for people putting Walky kits on VL's as i understand the price to buy an original is getting higher again but i'm against it when someone paints a body kitted VL in Mt Panorama Silver, puts the SV stickers and badges plus a Walky interior. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

That one is a little easier to tell with the black door handles, auto trans, VS Clubby 17s, newer HSV badge on rear, no SV badges on side, and it almost doesnt look like the proper paint colour. But yeah I know what you mean, if you put on a walky kit do something a little different, there are plenty of other colours to choose from!
