.
Hey people about 5 days ago over night my car just seemed to have no power at all, and has stayed the same since.
Symptons are as follows:
idle is about 500rpm (it was about the same before it happend)
has a slight miss (think its because of wrong spark plug gap?)
doesnt pull anywhere near like it used to (im talking really slow here)
when foot is to the floor it stays in gear up to about 5500rpm(its auto)
its not using water as far as i can tell,
there is no water in the oil or vise versa as far as i can tell
Theres two thing i think it could be but i may be way off?
Timing belt sliped a toof, thus putting the cam a toof out and the timing a set amount of degrees out as well?
Cracked head gasket or head, but its not using any water as far as i can tell?
Thanks for all your help in advance
Leads are in correct? Try taking the AFM plug off and see if it runs the same? Whens the last time the plugs where changed? Have a look at ya engine at night and see if any leads are stuffed usally u see it firing on metal objects around the engine. Theres no bubbles or anything in the radiator? If none of the above i'd check over your timing even if u droped by a mechanic i'm sure they'll have a look for a few bucks..
last time plugs were changed was about 4-5 months ago,
new internal fuel pump agout 5 months as well
external fuel pump about 9 months
fuel filter about 5 months ago
oil is due for a change(well over)
same with oil filter (doing these today)
leads never changed them sense i got the engine in my old car (my old engien seized and i riped this engine out of the car i wrote off)
so to check for bupples in raiator do it with the engien runnning im aussiming or is it a no no to have the radiator cap off while the engien is running?
if it stutters and coughs when full throttle then the cas is usually the culprit. if on full throttle the exhaust has a really different note to what it usually is then you may have skipped a tooth on the timing belt. look in gregories manual and do all the multimeter checks on leads, cas, coil, afm etc...
bec recons my car smells like petrol when at idle(engine was hot)
we took the oil cap off and there is a light brown slugde in it.
also at the top of the dip stick as well
the oil at hte bottom of the dipstick is not milky at all however as far as i can tell, im gooing to do a oil change now just to be sure.
dont have a gregorys any more because i lent it o a mate and he gave it away when he sold his car :@ :@ :@,
could some one pelase give ame a scan or a spec on what the lead cas and coil should be on (did afm yestiday)
hmmm not sure on exhaust note because i put extractors on 2 days after it started running slugish
also injectors are loud?....
bump really want to fix this

someone said it might be my transfluid could be low. as its staying in gear, like its holding it way to long, and its not accelerating hard any one else ave anything else t say about the trans causing it?

I can hold it in 1st and it doesnt make a difference, if anything it makes it slower. The rev's match the speed but it just wont accelerate.
I have a spare ecu to test if need be.
Thanks
Probably but try WD40 and do a visual for corrosion
plug it firmly back on and try driving the car
symptoms include running very rich and unwilling to rev/ holding gears
Do a multimeter test on your afm... pins one and six. Should red about 382ohms...
Get some electrical contact cleaner and give both the afm and plug a quick spray and make sure its put back on very tight...

i already cleaned it out
it was at the top of the dip stick (just slightly) and under the oil cap, the oil cap was filled with it, in another thread someone siad that a stuffed pcv vlave could cause codensatin? well i have piping that a ment to hook up to catch can but they are disconnected (so just to atmo) do u htink that could cause it?
and oil is well over due for a change, just never got the chance to do it.
but all is getting changed tested today
