"Genuine Nissan OEM lifters" still making noise

I recently installed my new RB30 SOHC cylinder head with extensive work done to it, including 'Genuine Nissan OEM lifters'. I was suprised after 30 mins of running the car that I was still getting a ridiculous amount of noise, but I was then told that it might take up to 500 k's and some high RPM for the noise to go away. I've done over 700 k's and the noise doesnt seem to be going away but I've been avoiding RPM over 4000-4500 RPM as it hasnt been tuned. I'm also starting to suspect that I might have been ripped off and have actually been given second hand lifters for brand new pricing. Has anyone here had experience with this sort of thing, need some advice to see what course of action to take.

They're not the aftermarket ones 'apparently', I'm going by what I've been told. Can someone that's actually bought the proper lifters for an RB30, answer my question please? How long did the noise (if any) take to go away?

There shouldn't be any noise period. Maybe for the first 10sec whilst they pump up for the first time, thats it.

i didnt even think you could buy brand new genuines anymore, and the best option is finding an immac set of 2nd hand ones? A few people i know have used brand new 0EM ones and the ticking does not go away, they are total crap.

Thats what i am thinking... Plus if you didnt install them correct they will tap too.. Did you make sure that the lifter guide's are ok too?? If the lifter does not slide up and down free it can make them tick too.... Also did you check out the tech thread about changing lifters?? Oh ok then so you had someone do it for you hmmm I would be getting in contact with in regards to them ticking away... I was typing while you guys were posting hehe

I dont wanna contact the guy until I'm certain that he's either purposely ****ed me over and/or I havent received the product I've paid for.

Ticking noises can come from other areas around the engine as well, not just lifters. E.G, Extractor gasket and injectors. Just a pointer, but most likely it will be your lifters.

Hehe, yes, thanks for pointing that out, but I'm 99.893284% sure its the lifters. And not all of them are tapping, it sounds like its one or 2 of them. Most likely one.

Did he put in an aftermarket cam aswell ?? If the lifter blocks have not been machined enough it could possibaly cause this tapping noise. When you first start the car did you bleed the lifters by holding a steady RPM of 3-4k for 5 mins or so ?

take a lifter out if it doesnt have the nissan symbol cast/stamped onto the body of it , then they arent genuine nissan's.
