getting prolly a single 12" most likely a rockford fosgate sub T12 (power series) or something of that caliber...
Dynaudio 240 GT are the splits im looking at...
lol
honestly... dynaudio are like the bentley of speakers, u dont put bentley speakers into a vl, its just not right, theres more to just mounting a speaker and it sounding good, u need the vehicle acoustics too and an old rattly VL will not do it justice. Lower your standards a bit more, save some cash and spend more on other bits like sound deadening e.t.c
hang on... vl's are a family sedan....they arent made to go fast...
their also not made for good acoustics , so acheiving either would be impossible...
you can achieve decent SQ anywhere you want, it just takes time and effort...
If you had any idea about the topic you would realise that a lot of SQ cars with over 90k worth in them are not luxury vehicles at all...

and a lot are too... most seem to be lexuses and mercs, beemas e.t.c... never seen a commo win a sq contest personally, maybe at the little amateur club meets

i stand corrected there! i really was going by american stuff from mags ive seen, not bagging it out but i dont think the SQ scene is much in australia yet... if im not wrong a pulsar gti-r took out the most points in that list??? dunno how that is possible was this for SQ or SPL ??? then again i suppose tubs full of sound deadener can do wonders

lol many people dont understand how "sound" actualy works. luxury if meaning prestige cars have the best audio. but then if you spend $50,000 on a mazda 3 like tower audio then that will make your teeth shake like mine did actual one of the worlds best SQ set up is a merc too
but Sinister does have a point, there isn't a point for Dynaudio speakers.
If you want some great SQ with not going over the top. Buy MB Quartz Splits for the front and back with the RF sub both running of RF Amps and while you get it set up get your doors and boot denced-(spelling?) That would sound amazing but most importantly position them properly

MaD_WoG - you talking about angelo?
Sinister if you wanted to see some of australias best SQ (and SPL) cars then you should have been down at epping autobarn a couple of weeks ago we had dB drags australalia and CAASQ. Im a judge in SQ and a competitor in dB Drags particularly in SS1-2NW and ST-A classes.
As for dyns in a VL why the hell not. Make sure you SD the car using a good product such as soundoff or dynamat or fatmat completely seal the doors or make sealed pods to mount them in. VLs are a hard car to get width in the soundstage due to the design of the dash I personally have found that ambient tweeters mounted in the stock 4" location attenuated and pointed at the windscreen helps improve width and the attenuation reduces the effects of noticable reflection.
