Thats a nice increase.
How much did you pay for the cam?
Was it only the cam that made it from 97rwkw to 115rwkw.
And what other mods do you have?
I'm thinking of getting one soon.

Re-grinds are about $110. Then you have to machine the lifter cradles, probably looking at $50 to $100 for both cradles.
Usually couple of hours to install.
Downside to large cams is that you get a lot more rocker noises but that's the price ya pay for more power.
Cheers,
Joel.

Well, I think it was around $400.00 for the cam re-grind, lifter cradles machined and install. Fuel economy is the same for long trips on highway but you use more around town..but not much more.

Well,
*chiptorque chip. I've actually got a spare manual ecu at home and have hooked this up to see the difference. Probably only a couple of kilowatts extra with the chip.
*5 speed
*Press bent extractors with 3" Hi-flow cat.
*Then 2/1/2" mandrel pipe to the first straight thru muffler, then 2/1/4" press bent pipe over the rear axle and then into another 2/1/2" hot dog style resonator.
Cheers,
Joel.
Ok. Well i've got 5 speed, extractors, stock cat, mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust wth a hotdog reso aswell, XF throttle body and going to be doing the CAI in the next week or so. So we should be seeing around the same amount of power as each other?
I'm thinking of rebuilding the head on my R31 and while its off I may aswell port it, fit a bigger cam XF TB and CAI. It already done a 15.9 STOCK! Wouldn't mind a low 15. Looks like a good cam you got there Joel. What is the cam grind worth by itself? I can do most of the work myself besides the machine work.
so joel you dont have any headwork and made about 18rwkw's from just a cam.
mine cams specs are very similar to yours joel
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The head doesn't have to come off if you drop the engine on it's rear mounts you can slide the cam out.
Very good power gains btw boys

Yes, the cylinder head did not come off. Just loosen engine mounts and or remove radiator. Cam slides out.

Sorry to go off topic but i'm lookin at getting a cam for my vl and was wondering what the idle would be like so if its not to much trouble could some of you's chuck up some vids or sound clips thanks
yes.
not telling the specs but....
i got slight head work, balance and a cam. got 106.5rwkw, then with a microtec ecu it jumped to 120.2rwkw and the eco went back to normal approx 500km per tank.

To get a good idle you must make sure that the AAC valve is working correclty. If it isn't you will find your cold start idle to be low. I swapped my AAC valve for a series 2 AAC valve (the one with the little spring inside it) and it works a treat. Get 1100rpm cold starts then it drops back to 750rpm once warm. However, your idle will still be rough.
Cheers,
Joel.
