I'll try to get some photo's up shortly. A couple of the door pieces have come away from the body. I can push them back onto the door with a bit of force but it just returns away from the body. Would it be wise to attempt a repair myself, I was thinking of using a silicon or would this be something I should refer to a panel beater. Also I've noticed too, in a few places, that the body kit has hairline cracks running through the outer areas where the fibreglass thins out and attaches to the body. Not noticeable at a distance bit moreso as you get closer. I would presume that this is the natural ageing of fibreglass, stress, wear and tear. What have you guys done to repair the above, or have you just left it as it is?

Then cut through the silicon around the edges with a blade or fine wire or fishing line.. reapply fresh tape/silicon and put back together all of the above is the recommended way in the walkinshaw workshop manual (or as close as i can remember off the top of my head ) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just be careful when you put them back on. Try to mark the position of the bolts on the inside of the door, so you have an idea where it is... If they go too far forward, when you open the door, they will scratch on the guard. Im pretty sure there is a bit of play, with the bolt holes.

When I had mine in the early 90s,the advice I got from Peter Brock[club patron]that they used sikaflex.Being rubberised allowed more temp flex. Also if you use silicone, non acidic auto only. cheers lee
