yeah cutting the springs or my mate reckons if you get an oxy torch (i think thats how its spelt) and get 2 or 3 ppl to sit in the back seat or boot and torch the springs apprently it goes down. Just a thought although cutting your springs is illegal lol but its a VL cops see them as illegal these days Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Cheapest safe and legit way yes.. 500 is pritty good if thats shocks also.. wont get much better.. Chopping your springs is not only illegal but dangerous. Not worth doing.

its usually about $100-110 for a pair of springs, so if its $500 including shocks then that is pretty cheap

If you just want your car to be hektified and uber low, then yes, 500 is the way to g. However, for that price id imagine youd be getting pretty **** quality gear... spend a little more and make your car handle like a car with a rb30 should Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

If 500 includes lowered springs and shocks and labour. Than that's a pretty good price. I assume if that is the case it will be pretty average brand gear. You'll be looking at around 250 for a set of 4 king springs (all heights are the same price) and then about another 100 or so a corner for lowered shocks. The rear you will need to get lowerd shocks if you go anything under 'lows' (1.5inch lower) as the stock shock will not trap the spring and there may be a chance of it coming out of the spring seat. The fronts you can get away with using the stock shock, but its best to replace it as they are getting to 20 years old now and they really arent the best. If you go really low, you will need an adjustable panhard rod to centre the diff back to stop your tyres from scrubbing on the guards

500 bucks is awesome, I just forked out 2000+ for my suspension. Koni adjustable fronts, adj front and rear sway bars, adj panhard rod, all new rubber bushes, selected nolathane bushes, superlows and munro reflex rears.

Because the springs are compressed with certain stress loads. By cutting them you are removing the integrity of the spring. Cut your springs it lowers your car easily and effectivley, in fact just take your springs out, just tell the police you have airbag suspension. Munro does

Im putting about $800 worth of second hand import Tien coilovers front n back into my R31, and gonna pay another $250-300 for whiteline swaybars n strut braces back n front. Then its gonna get nolathane front to back. Then i'll start modifying the engine. Rb20det or rb30e+t. But dont pay sh!t money on sh!t suspension. Suspension and brakes keep you alive. Dont risk it. And I doubt that $500 would include labour; I was quoted $530 for super low kings front n back + 4 munroe struts.... And thats as cheap as cheap

If that $500 includes everything you need (i.e 4 springs, 4 shocks, and an adjustable panhard rod) then its cheap, in fact its way too cheap. Even if that was parts cost only it would still be way too cheap. Springs are $250 at trade price, so that leaves $250 for front shocks and the panhard. I know from experience that decent shocks cost more than $500 a set alone, and that most workshops charge about $60 an hour labour. Not to mention replacing all those flogged 20 year old bushes that havent been changed since new. To lower your car for $500 installed (or uninstalled) is a joke and in my opinion is not even worth considering. If your gonna do it, do it properly. Dont cut your springs and dont use cheap crap gear that wont last, and is likely to fail and cause an accident. You'll regret it when you come unstuck at 100+ kays and hit an oncoming vehicle and kill someone, or maybe even a whole family. The people you kill might even be those which are close to you, or close to another member on this site. Don't sacrifice human lives for the sake of saving a few bucks. Also, I see your wrecking a VL, dont make it two Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
