Bought my SL earlier this year, and the muzza before me had a 10" Clarion sub, running on a Sony amp, bridged with another Sony amp running the two Xplode 6*9's in the back. There was also two 6" splits in the front, although I can't ever remember them working/making a sound.
Boot seal leaked, so a week later I had to rip out the amps etc from the boot, for fear of frying out something. Boot is now fixed, and I realised I have nfi what i'm doing when it comes to setting it back up. :|
I know the basic setup of a car audio installation, the power from battery to boot lines have been run (2 of them), but what confuses me is the head-unit to amps. There are two 'dualplug' AV cords running from the headunit to the boot, along with two dual copper lines which I'm guessing are just the 6" splits.
Amps are a sony xplod 440watt (XM-440EX) and Kicker KX300.4.
If someone could pretty please give me some hints I'll love you forever etc. ;p
Ta guys.
Bendigo mate. Doesn't trouble me to take a drive to Melb to get this sorted out. I've got all the cash to get a nice custom boot install done, just not the experience or time.
Here you are mate I've probably left something out but most of its there:
I imagine the RCA's and power cables and stuff are still run? Then it's just a matter of hooking them all back up. Try sourcing a distribution block to split the single power wire into two power wires instead of running two constant 12V through the car. Always run your RCA's and power wires down opposite sides to cancel out any interference.
As far as the dual plugs go, run one dual plug from on RCA output at the back of the unit; so, connect one dual plug to the white channel and the other to the red. Then, plug your RCA's into these and run them as normal.
Hope that helps!
You pretty much got it there CHRGD6. The 'trigger wire' you mentioned is actually called the remote wire and is blue.
Just make sure the power wire and RCA's are run on opposite sides of the car.

Actually remote wire OR trigger wire, both legitimate names for it.
