Just done some searching and havent really found much. But:
1) I have a V8 diff I want to put in my car, and as we all know they have 3.08 gears. Will there be a massive difference between the current 3.45 ratio and 3.08 ratio to the point it will be worse?
2) If so, Will the 3.45 gears from a N/A diff (with 25 spline axles) go into the V8 diff? (with 28 spline axles).
3) The diff is currently an open centre, now for me to change it to LSD do I just buy an LSD to fit in the current gear set or do I get a complete centre with gears and LSD etc and swap the whole lot over?
I do realise that changing from drum to disk requires changing a few bits here and there, I do know what needs to be changed and I have all of that with me already.
Thanks for the help
Sean

Discs, calipers, back plates, brake line you can use the drum one and carefully not to kink it bend it around a little to fit. Also a handbrake cable they are different. Think thats all, try the wrecker VN's are the same i think.
A whole disc diff from my local wrecker is about $100 including discs and all, could be the easy option I would suggest re-machinging and checking disc width and a new set of bendix pads also flush the brake lines.

15-07-06, 18:55 GMT+10#15 all u do is change the gear sets there all interchangeable just dont forget u need to change both gears the crown wheel and pinion gear and the shims are the same from 2.78 to 3.55 so u can install the gears yourself im not sure if there the same all the way up to 4.11 as ive never srtiped 1. the crown wheel bolts are oposite thread so dont do what i did and keep trying to undo it when actually ur doing it up and snap a bolt.... u cant use a 28 spline centre with 25 spline axels it just wont work aswell as the berrings and the caps are dirent sizes for the 2 difrent spline centres hope this helps

27-07-06, 22:06 GMT+10#18 I was saying the same thing but still un-doing them clockwise. Definately would help to crack all the bolts before removing anything from the centre.
