I was just thinking after being part of Street Commodores 10th Anniversary of HSV/Walkinshaw Commodore back in 1998 if anyone has thought about how to celebrate the 21st Anniversary? How about if all the remaining Walky owners converge on Mt Panorama in 2009 on Bathurst V8 raceday for a parade lap before the race. The leader would be the actual racecar that won in 1990 followed by the road versions in build number order. How cool would that be?

Around that time they will get a lot of time in the media spot light via magazines etc becouse of the anniversary (20 year)which should see the prices jump again.

Yeah i can't wait to see what Holden/HSV has planned for it.Has there been anything like what they have done for the XU1's,Monaros and GT Falcons at Bathurst for the Walky?Channel 10 hardly show anything like that on the TV coverage, you only see pics in magazines or from people who have attended the events.

There were several Walkinshaws involved in parade laps at Bathurst in both 1997 and 2003. Also was one up there last year. Corsa

Corsa I was invited to that in bathurst in 2003. The organiser for that event (and the previous Torana parade at bathurst) came to a car show when I last displayed it. He gave me the invitation, but work wouldnt give me the time off.... I was very annoyed about that. I want to be involved for the next one.

I was at the display and parade lap, and unlike the past few (XU-1' and hard tops) we got to do the parade lap only an hour before the race, it was fantastic!

I'm jealous of you Walkie-that would've been awesome.Did they let you take passengers with and if so did you take a video camera? When i drove my Walky around QLD Raceway few years ago a passenger recorded 5 laps out of 30,all you can hear is him swearing and tyres squeeling on the corners.Even lapped another Walky lol but Bathurst Parade lap would be gold.

Yeah I had 4 people in the car, the cool thing was I was directly behind the 1990 race winning Grice/Percy walky. And yes we filmed it and took about a thousan pics!

You're a lucky person Walkie, now imagine if all Walkys from build number 001-750 that are still rolling in a parade lap on the 20th anniversary.Don't think it'll ever happen but at least 50 of em should drop jaws at Bathurst ike the XU1s couple of years ago.Whats John Harveys phone number?Count me in.
