Do you think out of all current HSV's produced that the Walkinshaw will be the one and only model to appreciate in value? Why not others? Possibly baecause maybe this car was such a 'one off' in ways. With respects to bodykit design, motor, first HSV produced...I don't know? The reason was I ask is because last week I viewed a VP Senator, 5000i 5th anniversary. For some reason I still don't mind the VPs...and it was a beautiful car to drive, well looked after, only had 70,000kms...and the asking price was only 14 grand...and of course that's not likely to appreciate. Well why not? They're a 'one off' too in certain respects, but why is this not justified in their price? Even VX R8 clubbies...a 65 grand car only a few years back and now look at their prices...high twenties gets you a great car...great vaule...but never to appreciate either. Even the VN group As aren't vauled like the Walkinshaws. Can anyone see a HSV other than the Walkie that could represent value in the next 20 or so years?

dont write the other ones off completely. None of the HSV's have yet gone up in value (held there value after dropping in value in the first few years, but not gone past there original purchase price). The VN Group A and GTS/R are both holding good value these days. As for the 5th Anniversary Senator 5000i, I love those cars, Id buy it purely for self satisfaction rather than worring about a future investment, I mean $14000 is a great buy, im guessing its the one on ebay at the moment?? 70,000km+??? great km, looks clean. and rare, what more could u want?? A low km fully optioned SV5000 or a VP GTS (with optional Group A seats) may be good buys too??

i think other hsvs will go up in price, but its still too early.. GTs just started going through the roof the last yr or 2, and they are 30 yrs old.. the walkie at only 18yrs old is still young... wait till the walkie is over 20yrs old and their prices will start reaching 50k and more.. another comparison is the brockies.. there were only 500 vc brockies made, and they are still around the 20k mark... and they are 25yrs old.. a couple more yrs and theyll peak.. the hsvs that will peak the most, i think, are the limited numbers ones.. like the walkie, gts/r, vn ss grpa, etc..

Walkies made a rise, then dipped, and now are going thru the roof! VN Group A's have gone down slightly. GTS-R's have always held their value quite well.

I hated the gts/r when they came out all i could think of was they looked like a taxi. But now i reckon they look awsome and wouldn't mind having 1 of them.Remember there were only 75 of them built! I think they will rise in value in the future.

Must admit, I hated the VR and VSs full stop. I spose just purely due the number built that they'll have to attract some interest in the years to come. And if you'd optioned the motor enhancement again that's be a bonus. Quote: Originally Posted by ILLUSIV Walkies made a rise, then dipped, and now are going thru the roof! What about breaking through the 100K barrier...imagine that Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Hey Guys, Well we all seem to be thinking alike on this one, I believe the VN Group A's will go up in value as the Walkys become unafordable. I also reckon the VS GTS R will also follow it's footsteps in a matter of time. Just take a look at the VK Brocks prices for instance, today you will be paying anywhere between $30,000 - $45,000 and as for the Walkinshaw the prices of them are going between $28,000 - $50,000 for one in concourse conditon.

Yeah, that's why Im finally getting a walky. I've wanted one for years, and they keep going up in value, so Im treating it as an investment.

Now is the time to get one. Another five years they will be out of reach for most people.

With the resurgence of the Walkinshaw, do you think that many owners would now be cashing in on this fact by winding back speedos. I reckon so...from the few I viewed anyway. I only say this with respects to milage on say VN Group As...HSVs in the VP range (only cause I'm interested in them too). Australia has come a long way since the 70's. People live in suburban areas, we need to travel everywhere. I spose there's the arguement that Walkies were'nt driven as much and kept undercover? Hmm, well as a kid when they first came out I remember seeing heaps of them. The VL was the first car I ever took an interest in as a 16 year old at the time. Also, some guy whom I spoke to said..."yeah this cars hardly been driven...and that's because with the spilter on you can't drive them on normal roads". Fair point, but speed humps or traffic management devices were really a late 90's thing...when folks complained about us young clowns flying through side streets at frightening speeds. Plus at 47 grand in the late 80's you would have been livin pretty well I reckon to be able to afford one, specially as interest rates were hovering around the 16 percent mark. Average wages back then were, what 30K...tops. If I could've brought one of these things outright back then I would've driven it everywhere. So what I could've just said in a sentence is that I reckon that you'd be lucky to find one of these with under 40,000km in original condition...very lucky! And if you do it'd be worth every damn cent without question. Sly...you did get a good buy too you lucky dog!

Well my father bought his Walky in 1993 with 50000k's on it from a FORD dealership in Brissie for $29000,funny thing was they had two at the time.I bought my Walky for $24000 in 1997 with 120000k's on it and now it has high 140000k's.With owning a Walky you need a 2nd car as a daily driver and be an enthusiasts for these special cars.

did any of you see the VN SS Group A on ebay a few weeks ago. 23000km and buy it now price was $32000. They increased the price to $36000 during the week even though no one bid on it. Had personalised plates, i think it was GPA496. Yes the build number was #496 too. I would have loved to have got it. Damn SS ute

My mate brought one in Queensland last year with 7,000km on the clock (VN GPA), absolutely immaculate. Had it displayed this year at the Melbourne International Car Show with Shannons for auction...he wanted mid 40's...no one was interested. Still at Shannons on show now!

I saw the one on ebay.... I was tempted myself! But I really want a walky.... Vn group A's are a very nice car... it and the GTS-R are the 2 real muscle cars, with the walky not far behind...

Don't think he's got it for auction now. It's just sitting in their showroom as he hasn't got anywhere to store it at the moment. Think he's gona keep it...I reckon he should too! I would've thought that the Walki would have to be in front of the VN for sure? Were'nt there some serious build issue problems with the VNs too?...I recall reading years ago that some owners of the gpa's were right royally pissed off with the amount of problems they had with their cars with repsect to electrical faults, noises etc...

I agree with ILLUSIV with comment about VN Group A and GTS-R,i'm chasing a GTS-r at the moment to sit next to my Walky.Missed out on 2 from NSW in past 2 years, private sale and car yard.Thought about the VN but the VS stands out like the Walky.
