I know this has been covered before, but obviously everyone renews their insurance yearly...has anyone here got full insurance coverage for under a thousand dollars...with the car insured for loss of at least 35K? And who are you insured with? Shannons kill me, the usual speil..."Are you the member of any car clubs sir"..."umm, no I'm not"..."sorry sir, at this point in time we are unable to insure you"...WTF WTF. Why do I need to be a club member to be offered insurance?

Why do I need to be a club member to be offered insurance? just cos ur trying to insure a walky, doesnt mean u have to be a member of a walkie club or a commodore club.. why not join the vic wrx club.. they r cams affiliated and only cost $100 a yr.. may be worth it to save the $$ on insurance Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

And to add to the above, I had had correspondance with Vigil via email and I was quoted 1,100 to fully insure the Walki, rating one etc (which puzzles me Sly as 600 dollars is a fair saving and I'm older than you)...anyway I rang them yesterday, spoke to this bloke, gave the quote number I was given, answered a few questions, was put on hold, then he came back and said "sorry sir we don't insure HSVs". Confused I said "but I've already been quoted for insurance I just wanted to confirm that is was still a current quote". To that he replied "yes sir, my headset is working and I can hear you". You know that feeling of rage when you just want to break someone's fcuking neck...that's how I felt after dealing with this twat. Why is this simple task so frustrating?

Did you ask for George?

He obviously didnt. George is a champion. Dont speak to anyone else. He's helping us out here, so dont screw him over by getting him in crap. Speak only to George.

No, I was dealing with another consultant there. I don't really read the other forums as much so therefore I had not noticed the information regarding a specific contact. Even considering that there is a nominated person to deal with CT, this should not determine the level of insurance risk, moreso just a bulk reduction in premiums due to the amount of cliental generated. And no, I'm not giving George crap at all. As I stated, I had a written quote from these guys who were really helpfull...just stating the experiance I had with them last night.

Well George is the manager of some certain modified cars department or something, and he’s the one who organized our sponsorship. He has final say on prices and outcomes and he gives us not only a “club discount”, but a specific “Calais Turbo” member discount.. give him a shot.. it can’t hurt…

I agree-i changed over to shannons this year after being with RACQ(Royal Automobile Club Queensland)since 1997.For the first two years my Walky was insured as a 1987 VL Group A so luckily i picked up on their mistake.I then found out what the market value was worth-a eye opening $22450 for $805 a year, rating 1 sole driver aged 33 no claims. After seeing Darryl Beatie advertising they do bikes(i also own a Yamaha R1)i changed over to them, agreed value $30000 19"rims $778 a year.

To add further, I was surprised to find that Shannons did not require theft devices to insure for theft. On my policy it was noted that I had no theft device fitted. Hopefully when I advise them that I do so maybe I'll receive a further reduction on the premium.

Thats weird cause shannons specified that i fit a 3 point alarm system to my Walky as they are a highly sort after veichle.I also have always fitted a high tensile chain from the steering wheel to the brake pedal-it gets lots of comments.
