I have heard of people using monaro space saver spares as front runners - not too sure on it all though. It could be a cheap option. Im sure someone else will knwo more.
ive heard the space savers dont like big launches when the wheel comes back down as they were only really designed to get the car home ,and the tyre that comes on them is only rated 80 kmh.
i run MT sportsman fronts. They are DOT legal and run on a 6" rim . they are still pretty skinny but you can drive on them to the track and they are no x ply so they can be run with slicks . might be interested in selling the rims and tyres

I just dont see why you'd do it, you can simply change them at the track,
but if u want ham get some 5'' rims and ring superplus in hallem, make sure when u race u get tubes for ur slicks. They are about $80 each but heaps safer mate
gotta catch up soon mate
