I'm trying to clean up this absolute birdsnest of wires underneath the steering column, there is this plug that's got about 9 terminals on it under there with nothing attatched to it, it looks aftermarket because some of the wires going to it have been scotch locked, but some of the wires go to that orange button just next to the power mirror switch, anyone know what the plug is for, or what the orange button is supposed to do? Thanks. Oh yeah its a calais too.

So it's got two cruise switches then? It's already got one just underneath the wiper switches with 3 buttons on it. Then it's got this other one just to the right of the mirror control button. It's this round orange button, it's just 2 stage, either in or out, it looks factory so I thought some of your cars might have it, but maybe its not after all.

the button that's usually down there is the one to isolate the rear electric windows so they don't work (stops the kids playing with them) ... it's usually black and about the size of a 20c piece?
normally further underneath than the electric mirros though ...perhaps the car you have used to have a two stage boost controller... pics would help
