VL_Nick... A NISSAN motor into a HOLDEN! Then from a holden to a FORD!.....
I really dont see the point of putting a XR6 motor in. they are a good motor with DOHCs and 4L of displacement but for the money he is spending just on the motor+install, the RB30ET would get it going just as hard hard.. and there is allways more for the Rb30s... (unless your in the 8s, witch it sounds like your friend isnt)
And there will be alot less headacks with the RB30 in it then the XR6T motor.
Whats the motors name anyway?

Whats wrong with the RB30?Putting a falcon donk in a Holden is plain wrong,I know your gunna say it will go hard but so would any Holden donk, its his money but its just too wierd.

IMO thats would be one of the most fantastic ways to blow hard earned cash.
WTF someone would do that is beyond my comprehension when engines twice as good can be had for half the price.

im not in dont like the idea but u can spend 5000 on a xr6 turbo engine and get it up around 330rwkw as my m8 has done in his ute but ford into holden not cool there competition

29-04-06, 10:39 GMT+10#10 i don't understand why everyone is virtually saying its a crappy engine, i agree with everyone, that putting a ford motor in a holden is just wrong but them ford motors are strong as and definitely are not crap! if you can get 400+rwkw's out of standard donk and turbs that is a pretty damn good engine IMHO!

29-04-06, 11:48 GMT+10#13 the only logical reason i could see in doing something like this would be if it was an absolutely mint mind blowing show car, just to do it for something different at a whole bunch of shows...
cause its gonna cost a sh1tload, and take god knows how long, and in the end, not be anything that fantastic other than being able to say 'i put an xr6t motor into my vl'
that being said, ford motor into a holden? hmmmm....

29-04-06, 13:08 GMT+10#18 If he loves the ford motor so much he should put in an XB coupe or EB falc, classic retro.

29-04-06, 13:18 GMT+10#19 I find it pretty funny all the people saying it's wrong to put a ford motor in a holden...
Its not like the majority of our cars have holden motors in them anyway....
As others have said, RB26 would be much easier and a far better option IMO...

29-04-06, 13:18 GMT+10#20 For the money you would spend on doing that conversion you could build a 10 sec VL. Why would you bother?
