So guys here's the story...
My car was defect last week, i've been to vicroads 6 times in the last 2 days (taking time off work) just to clear the defect for fuel regulator, boost controller and air flow meter on pressurised side of turbo. I removed all of them but yet they STILL won't clear the defect because the dumb inspector said the intercooler wasn't stock and will only pass me if I have an engineers certificate!!! BULL****! It even says in the vicroads regulation that intercoolers ARE legal only if there is no pod filter, which I don't have one. They insisted on ignoring this fact even though it's THEIR OWN rulebook which is so stupid! To make things better, they twisted my words around saying that I said "i put an aftermarket turbo with the cooler" when clearly I said "all i have done is installed the intercooler as you can see".
I've contacted today tonight since vicroads insist they have it right. I can't believe the time and effort they waste on such a small issue which is clearly their wrong! AND... they didn't even have the courtesy to look me in the face the whole time when telling me all this!

27-04-06, 23:24 GMT+10#13 I used to work for Vic Roads and I loved seeing the modded cars come in. As long as I saw the defect notice and all the things were fixed up on it I would clear it! I didnt care if the car was 20mm off the ground I would clear it cause if the copper who booked you in the first place thought it needed to be fixed then he would of said so in the defect notice!!!!
And then I would have a chat with the guys and talk about turbos this and that and have fun! We are there to help the cops not be the cops!!

28-04-06, 00:23 GMT+10#14 Vicroads are ****ed full stop its because of those ****heads i copped a 6 month suspension bcause the wankers sent me options notice to loose my license for 3 months or 1 point for 12 months and they done the same thing 3 times in 2 weeks so i kept selecting the 1 point then 5 months later i get pulled over saying that i dont have a license and a summons to go to court
Every time i ring vicroads to see whats going on with my license i get a different answer anytime i dont know what the **** they have on record...

28-04-06, 00:37 GMT+10#15 yeah i went to the dandy one only cos its right near the place where i got the work done to my car. Yeah it was the guy named Laurie and this old bitch Audrey which I am gonna get their full name and position to take this further.
Yeah you guys are right, after calming down now and thinking properly today tonight wont do anything but I'm so frustrated about the amount of effort and time wasted for something so dumb especially when they can't follow their own regulations! I can't take it to another vicroads cos the smartass put a record next to my car on the computer to see him to clear it the dodgy *******! grrrrr I shouldn't of been nice to him! lol

28-04-06, 08:44 GMT+10#16 Print out the rules off www.vicroads.vic.gov.au (http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au) and take them in. Heres the rules, my modifications are within these guidelines. Unless the cooler is hanging out the bottom, you should be fine, otherwise ask who you can speak to to escalate it.

28-04-06, 10:50 GMT+10#17 Good advice!
The vehicle modification guideline is listed on the site here - http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrpdf/rdsafe/VSI%208.pdf
Just make sure you don't incriminate yourself with something else
This guide is always a good idea to keep in your car, esp if you get pulled over for mods you know are legal.
