I thought I'd post some quick ideas I have done to my car for ppl to use as I have gotten many god ideas from this forum. 1> Changing the rear reading / courtesy lights to bmw items, I found it impossible to get replacements for my rear lights as they are easily broken and brittle, especially around the switch, I found these rear lights from an early 90's model bmw, to make em fit you need to lip the inside bracket to accomadate the wider size, Then simply change the connection to the bmw by chopping of the vl connectors and soldering the bmw connector (make sure you get it with the light) in its place, or use some spade connectors and plug them in to the vl socket. then simply push the new light into place. all done! 2> Chrome door handles, For a nice change, get some chome metal door handles from a VB - VK commodore, knock out the pin to change them - simple. 3> White Dash, I think this has been done before but mine is slightly different. If you want a whit dash without paying a fortune, take out your old plastic dash panel sheet pieces, scan them into a computer, then use photoshop or similar to change them until your happy, with some fiddling, you can get them white ( I used different fonts to update the style) then print them out on 270gsm paper or higher -(dont use gloss, it reflects sunlight too much) Then cut them out Very Carefully using a utility/craft knife and a steady hand. Now you can install them, I used fluoro orange paint on the needels. Because of the mechanisims blocking the backlighting, I used a thin neon tube (jaycar) for a front lit display and removed the rear bulbs. the neon can be connected to the cigerette lighter or similar so it can be dimmed. (note: some plastic may needed to be removed for the neon to be out of sight - you dont want it shining in your eyes at night!)all done Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

im gonna go one step further with the guages when i find a S2 calais clusterf or a spare..... im going to scan the images at high res.. as i am into graphic design i should be easily to modify the dash... like get the font thats used in the autometer tacho's, put brocks signiture on it and all the rest.... then i will goto a printing place, and getit printed on thick seethrough plastic. and leave were the lights are gonna shine through, at those spots i will use glass paints to have different colours, like blue instead of the stock green, and white brocks signiture and yeah..... if someone can provide high res STANDARD S2 calais dash, i will get working on it....
