i have a 10'' jvc sub in a nonported box, were is the best place in the boot to put it. I was thinking of puttin it in the middle of the little shelf in the boot facing the back seat so if i feel like it i can fold down the middle of the back seat. Where do you have your subs?

If it's in a sedan, fire it towards the tailights, the closer to the back the more of a loading effect you'll get.

i thought that if its in a sedan you fire it towards the seats, and if its in a wagon towards the rear.

as i've been told, loading is kind of like a reverb that increases the sound effect in the same way as it does when you put the front wall of the sub box on an angle compared to the bak wall,, increasing the over all sound without having to increase the power. i had 135db in my old car with the sub's facing rear and 126db with them facing forward,

Exactly, 10dB is a huge difference whether it's at 140dB or 120dB.

that would have been more from standing wave cancellation when it was firing forward, if u fire the subs forward towards (into the seats) u have got to seal them off from the boot, so as no sound from the sub can get into the boot and cause standing waves

an easy was to test if u have standing wave cancelation is to listen to ur stereo whilst sitting in the car, then open the boot an listen to it in the car.. if u are getting more bass when the boot is opened then u have bass cancelation issues

I have a vn commodore with a kicker 12" cvr in a ported box and the baffle is angled and it fitted perfectly into the centre of the back seat and right into the cabin, so yeh i tried facing into the cabin and altho is was loud, it was nowhere near as loud as facing the sub towards the tail lights, facing inside the cabin it loses alot of the deepness but still sounds great its just the bass is not as pronounced at rear loading. Altho i couldnt be bothered sealing the front baffle to the back seat to seal it off from the boot.
