Hey guys and girls, Just wondering if anyone can give me a little more info on the adjustable strut tops on my car. The previous owner did it and I have no idea where they came from, how they work or what they can do.. I'd appreciate any info. Here's some pics... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Looks home made, and/or a Jap strut top modified to suit the VL.

A little off topic, but I just spoke to pedders about adjustable camber tops and he said yeah rec retail around $350 a pair, but he reckons he can move the pedders standard ones around to 3 different settings and get it to adjust the camber in almost all cases... and only costs $140 for the tops new! Interesting anyway...

The blue colour tells me they are Noltec brand. Very good but K-Mac is the best. To get proper alignment take it to a professional suspension place - Not Bob Jane.

They are a Noltec solid club sport type mount. Used for cars with stiff suspension so it doesnt pound the rubber/urethane type. You are better to set it about 1deg neg camber and push the tops back towards the firewall as far as you can go to get the most positive caster you can. The LHS usually rus a little more caster than the RHS. They have a RRP of around $600, are the best one you can buy for a Commodore. I currently use these in my car, I've had Kmac but the Noltec ones are much better quality and have better adjustment.

kmac are makin ones like these now too, as is nolathane...i have the noltec ones in my calais and am very happy with them..as said earlier go to a proper suspension shop, tyre places will just stuff it up. you need to run a bit more neg camber on the passenger side to allow for the camber of the road, but a good tecnician will already be on top of that.

YES!!! That point cannot be emphasised enough! Tyre places CANNOT to proper wheel allignment... Go to someone like Pedders, Fulcrum etc. or someone of equivalent... Don't beleive, ask you're average tyre shop wheel alligner if they compensate for lateral runout, or even know what it is! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
