Hey guys, Thought Ide just post up a few pics of my car with a little bit of info on what Ive done to it etc. I bought the car as a N/A Berlina with crappy bronze paint and a nice red interior. At this time I was unaware of the whole cult kinda thing with VL turbos etc.. And I got the car for $1000 planing to respray it and use it as a daily driver. Two weeks after I got the car I went down to the panel shop to talk about a respray, and ended up booking it in for a full colour change. I ended up chosing a custom Orange with a gold pearl and silver metallic flake. While the car was in the panel shop one of the other workers was wreking a calais and he ended up selling me all the calais parts cept the pop ups... A few months later the the VL emerged a new car. The colour looked great but now i needed to put in my calais interior.. I took the car home and put in everything cept the power windows, Then I took it to the local auto electrician to get that done. After a while I saved up enough to throw a set of rims on the car, I went for 17" HP's and slammed the back with a custom set of lowered springs and koni adjustables and got the guards lipped. Recently I added an adjustable panhard Rod and front Pedders sprot ryder coils aswell. The stereo was beefed up a bit with pioneer 4" 3 ways in the front and 6" 3 ways in the rear. First 2 12" xplod subs were added with a cheap amp but were then removed and replaced by a 15" MTX and a kicker amp. Recently I finally took the plunge to turbo the car and purchased a complete BT1 turbo motor. I took the car to the mechanics and he agreed to install it. At the same time I grabbed a VL Turbo gearbox that had been fully rebuilt, strengthened and stage II shiftkitted and threw in a tranny cooler. While the motor was out I decided to give it a quick freshen up. It was pulled apart and cleaned while most gaskets and seals were replaced, aswell as most hoses and vacuum lines. The injectors were cleaned and flowed and NGK Iridum plugs were thrown in with 8mm Eagle leads. most of the sensors, eg coolant, air flow were replaced with new ones aswell. The alternator was ditched in favour for a Brand new Bosch Heavy duty 75amp one, and the starter motor was swaped for a new one aswell. I also bought a pacemaker 3" dump pipe and I had already put a 2 1/2" cat-back which will do for now. I grabbed an Auto meter pro comp ultralite boost gauge and a boost tap so I could turn things up abit aswell. The motor came with a Turbosmart v-port BOV so I left that on for the moment. It took the mechanic a week to pull the old motor out and put all the new gear on the new motor and then put it in and make the bay nice and tidy. Last saturday the job was done and we turned the key for the first time....after struggling for a few seconds it started and sounded phat.....untill we pushed the throttle and heard a loud knocking....a blown bottom end!!!!!muthafu*ker!! the motor was advertised as IMMAC COMPLETE BT1 MOTOR......and ended up being FU*KT I was so dissapointed.... The motor is now being pulled out and sent away for a fully forged rebuild, and I am trying to find a good diff aswell.. I cant wait to get the car back and drive it....im stingin..... Future plans: - Calais pop ups - Full leather interior - 19" GTO wheels - T04 and hi mount manifold - Custom plenum - Frontmount - Full 3" exhaust - Major porting - Bigger stereo I will have some new pics up soon as things progress.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

OK......got an update......Turbo was ***t.....bought a T04 and a custom exhaust manifold, full 3" this time with a new dump pipe.....bolted up and realised the intake was hitting the exhaust manifold......took it to the exhaust place and got the intake done at the same time they did the 3" Drove it for the first time!!to the mechanics....major boost leaks, no o2 sensor.....running ****......he fixed it all up and then gave it to me.....cruised it round for a bit and then at 500kms got it off that ****ty running in oil....ran another 500kms and then boosted it up a bit....just to like 12psi.....I loved it....One week later...Gearbox gone!! Its in now getting rebuilt and strengthened, full manual valve body, 3 grand stally etc.... and I am flying down to Vic this w/e to buy a s2 calais that I found of here and am going to transplant all the running gear into that as I want an immac genuine calais...
