As some of you know i bought a rb25det not too long ago. Well it arrived late last year and we finally got around to pulling it apart to see if anything was wrong with it. To find a ****load of things wrong. The car it was in had been in a car crash and the sump was smashed up, squashing oil lines etc. Number 5 cylinder was not going, it had a non-turbo water pump on it, in japan they sprayed some non-corrosive **** on it, which got into everything and stuffed a few things up. Gearbox, very hard to get into 3rd and 4th, once in you could not move the shaft at all. And a few other bits and pieces which i will be finding out within a day. I'm getting my mechanic who i know to write a report to what he found and take pictures and am going to email the guy these pictures and going to ring him and try get a refund for a completly faulty engine and gearbox. *crosses fingers things go well* And among this i'm going to sell my vl calais after all this is over. I cant be bothered anymore going through hassle finding another engine so im just going to look for another jappa. If anyone may be keen on my car PM me. Here's a few details 87 vl calais just ticked over 100,000km (genuine) rb30e/auto red interior Sportline stearing wheel 18" Koya inox3 Low kingsprings Alpine cd/mp3 player 2 pioneer 6x9's Only a bit of rust in the front windscreen. The rear screen rust has been all removed. Not ready to sell RIGHT now, but will do soon, just seeing if anyone would be interested on here before i put on trademe. Cheers Brad
