Okay, this happened to me a week ago and I think it is a common problem on all VL/VK models. How to fix... 1. Firstly, to bust it open use a small flat nose screw driver and wedge it between the glove box and dash, closest to the passenger door. Now push the screw driver towards the windshield until you get about an inch gap. Now repeat this process but use a bigger screw driver and slowly move this towards the center of the glove box. Once in the middle apply a little force upwards on the screw driver and the lock will bust open. 2. Now with the glove box open, pull the retaining clip away from the back of the lock and pull the lock out of the glove box. 3. Now go to a wrecker and find one that is working and repeat step 2. I got mine for $5.00. 4. Now to swap lock barrels. There are 2 plastic tabs holding the back of the lock barrel to the lock mechanism. To remove the barrel all you need to do is use a small flat nose screw driver and prise the tabs away from the lock. Once done the lock will fall out. Now repeat this process with you old lock mechanism. Now place your old lock into the working lock mechanism and push down on the plastic tabs with a screw driver so as to fix it in nice and tight. Now re-install. All fixed. Took me about 5 minutes to do. Joel.

Wtf did you put your head unit in the glove box for? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I think he means he puts the faceplate in the glovebox whenever he parks the car...
