hey guys really hope u can help me out here. driving home last night had the stereo down for a change and could hear some funky noises coming from the rear end of the car. the car has been making clunking noises for a while now, and under weight (2 people in the back seat) used to grind upto about 60km/h. last night however, it was displaying all of these symptoms with only me and my gf in the car. it was grinding and clunking all the way upto 80km/h, would rattle non stop at lights - pulling up and taking off. its never displayed these symptoms before, is it time for a new diff? any help would be great thanks guys...for the record its NA and auto

Go under the car, and try to move the tail shaft around. If it move's, Unijoints are screwed Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

ok will do that this arvo after tafe...when people say the diff is "gone", it could be a multitude of parts that need replacing right? like the diff itself doesnt need replacing, but rather a component of the diff? is that right?

From what it sounds and my past experiance's it does sound to me like just the uni joints, possibly not the diff. But im no mechanic, so once you check to (Will take like 5 seconds to check) you will know

same thing as boost most of the noise was the exhuast sitting on the axle...making a god awful noise. new exhaust hanger and the noise is all but gone,. still makes a bit of noise but not the grinding it used to. thinking of spooling it but its only a 25spline
