About 3 years ago my VL got stolen from Fountain Gate Shopping Centre. It went missing on a Sat arvo and the cops found it off Jacksons Road Noble Park on Sun at about 5 am. My chrome wheels had been taken off and reaplaced by 3 interceptors. The front drivers side was jacked up on bricks. My exhaust and extractors taken off and the whole car was burnt out. Was dumped in a fairly busy residential street parked under a tree which also caught on fire. Till this day never heard a thing and wonder who could of done it. I thought i had a lead early on when we went through the car we found heaps of Video Ezy brochures from Noble Park that hadn't burnt. That never lead to anything. As much as it peeved me off 3 years on i haved basically got another vl with the same running gear in it, saved up for same chromies and waiting to get it sprayed from red to the blue colour i had.

I had my plates stolen by an old neighbour...
he had this unregistered heap of crap falcon sitting in his shed for ages...
One day I walked out to the car and it had no plates, looked over at the falcon, and my plates were on it!!!
I went over and knocked on the door but noone was home (or answering) so I went in his carport un unscrewed them, and noticed a fridge full of beer....
Didnt have to buy beer that week.

We had a family *friend* that we had known for about 12 years who used to look after me and my two sisters and we used to play with his kids (one of em still a mate hah) anyway my dad used build very fast cars for very rich people unlike me haha when the owner of the buisness sold up to work for nissan he told my dad to take everything he wanted that was in the shop, that meant new big blocks, awesomes multiple sets of tools, diagnostic stuff ect (bout $60'000 worth!) one day we wake up and the garage is cleaned out and all the beer is missing aswell .we imeadiatley suspected the family friend so we asked our nieghbour if he saw anything he said yeah your mate "this guy" came round late last night and started packing all this **** up into his ute so when i asked him what he was doin he said that my dad said it was ok cos he didnt want it anymore, my neighbour said ok and thought nothing of it. my dad rang him and told him to come over and the guy acted as though nothing happend so my dad put it to him that he stole everything he denied it and my dad just said that he wants his stuff back asap or there will be trouble anyway that night about 11 we hear a bang and it was this guy putting everything back in our garage my whole family was crouching and watching through a window as he worked for like an hour it was so funny ill never forget it.he never said a thing to us bout it ! what a peice of sh!t. anyway we got robbed about 7-8 weeks later and everything went for good insurance didnt pay cos of some dodgey loophole but this loser had a tight reliable aliby but we still recon it was him!

25-03-06, 11:36 GMT+10#11 Ok Well where do i start...
Last Year, about May my Bf's car get's stolen. (Now ex Bf)
Car is a Silver RX4 sedan with off it's head motor but looked nothing special.
He worked as a DJ.
One morning he drove home from work about 3am parked car beside house. I woke to the car starting and looked out the window to see the car driving away. My car was stuffed so we couldn't chase then. Called the cops, as we could hear them driving it around. They couldn't find it.
19 days later we get a call that the car was found with other plates on it in Chapel street when the cops pulled it over to do a Canary on it.
The car had different wheels on it, and an air cleaner out the head light ( as you do?????)
We eventually got the car back, the guy was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and yes thanks a lot, we got the car back with the canary. The rego sticker was gone with the car traced to us by the chassis number.
It even had the jump starter pack in it that had been under the seat still.
They also fixed the steering problem it had, and we had receipts for the tyres they had bought, and since fried.
The car was sitting in the back yard while we tried to work out how to get it back on the road. I lost my job, and had no way of looking for a job without transport.
One night about a month later the car again started up in the middle of the night and off it went again. this time we chased them, but turbo RX4 versus Pulsar, you guessed it gone again.
They broke through the back gate, put a battery in it and to this day i still do not know how they started it.
We'd smashed the ignition lock - they'd even changed that and drove it once since we'd gotten it back, around the block to see if the motor was stuffed. Police had the keys for evidence.
I swore to the cops that the same guy stole it again but they siad there was no proof.
We went to the court for the first hearing and the mo-fo didn't show.
About 2 months later i got a call from a friend that he was at a rotary mechanics in melbourne and the car was there. The cops were called again, and the car was impounded again.
This time the car had been blown up and delivered there on a tow truck. The chassis had been cut and rewelded, and re-stamped.
We had to go to a tow yard with a list of identifying features and wait outside while they went over the car.
Eventually they agreed the car was ours and we could have it back.
Yes you guessed it, it was fu**ed. Motor in a thousand pieces because the mechanic has been trying to call the supposed owner, but he was in jail for stealing the car the first time. We didn't know he was in jail as the police had found him one day, arrested him for the skipping bail warrant and the case was heard the next day but we were never told about it.
It has also been smashed, and all kinds of things changed.
Eventually the guy was charged with the second count of theft and given additional jail time.
To this day the car is still getting fixed, still had panel damage to go, and also a motor bill to pay for. He received 4 months jail time.
The offender who's name i know i still do not know what he looks like. I just know which suburb he may lives in.
He knows where i used to live, the car i drive, where i work everything, but due to privacy laws i cannot see a photo of him to protect his privacy.
But the police have advised me if i see anyone suss hanging around to call them.
Some other police division will soon be looking over the car as charges may be made in relation to the chassis modifications.
Thank God they didn't touch my VLT which was also in the back yard, but i am slightly afraid to fix it due to the stress from the last thefts.
My ex and i mainly broke up due to the stress these incidents caused, probably from all the sleepless nights and crap we had to go through.
If anyone knows anything about this, no i won't mention his name, to protect his privacy, what a load of crap, but if i do, he can say i am harrassing him...
But if he ever reads this, or someone he knows reads this, let them know that he ruined about 6 months of my life.
Sorry if this is a long winded story but i had to get it off my chest.
I am in no way bagging the police. The local police here are under staffed and just didn't have the man power to look for the car.
The Police who found the car both times were extremely helpful but it cost us a fortune in phone calls to Melbourne and travelling to court and to identify the car.
We were informed there was no real point asking for compensation as he was just over 18, no job, no real prospects of getting one.
Now the car is also unregistered and needs paint etc, but not my cash problem.
But once i can move from my parents place and i have a locked garage the VLT will be back to fight another day....

hard to call people friends these days.. my mate skitzed out cause he was like a part of there family and even his mates older brother was involved, he went off when he found out and tried to punch on with the guy even infront of the cops wasnt a good thing to do.. got everything but his exhuast back and body had minor damage do it and so did his cooler/front bar.. but he told cops that half the parts in the garage were his too and were in his boot, parts from other cars they had stripped so he ended up selling the parts and fixing up his car back to its intended form and enuff money left over to upgrade afew more things in the car and a set of 19''s

26-03-06, 14:25 GMT+10#14 Heres a good story, aboiut two weeks ago some schmo tried to steal my car and i have to admit was impossible as the engine was missing the wiring harness and it is immobilised.t=so the only r=way they could do this was to tow it away.anyways the neighbour came out and saw 5 of them around my car they had smashed a window broek the igniiton and pushed it out onto the road.on the inside of the drivers door i am missing a door lock switch so the door can only be locked by key. the attempted driver didnt realise this and when the neighbour came out he was therefore locked in the car.the neighbour saw him then wind down the windo w dive head first into the hard concrete road abnd then sprint off as fast as he could.the 5 were on foot andsecurity and copers arrived seriously 2 minutes after, there were no ppl on the streets in cars nothing. anyways another guy saw them running down their street which is just a few hundred meters from mine. and they ran into a house which one were not sure of neither are the police but they are taking thius very very seriously. i have a feeling its a house with 2 vls out the front for obvius reasons.one i think is turboed and we drove passed the next day and got the plates and someone at the house must have saw us and later that arvo we went passed again and the car had been attempted to be hideen hahaha anyways as their is no real proof as noone saw their face or the house they ran into i cant do shiiiitttt.but last night a suspiciuous white vk drove passed 12 times!!!!!!!!!! luckily i waited 0ut the front ran upto the road with my torch and got its plate number ahhaahah the car never returned after he saw me run out ahahhaha and possubly the baseball bat scared him off.but as i have nbow noticed tehy are going to kepp trying to come back i have the car under close eye and stealing it without making noise is going to be imp[ossible i even take a wheel off at night now and chain it to a pillar ahahhaha.i evens old the 198's that were on it just incase it did go.as the car USED to be turboed it still has calaisturbo.com.au stcikers on it. i think the nutcase group that is trying to steal it thinks its turboed.so i think its the stickrs fault ahhahaha.also my mates yz 450 and vl turbo got stolen from thronlie the other month and funny enough when he went to a party in the gosnells area there it was in the garage that is open on the backyard siude is his 450 vl turbo and an old vh were sitting in there!!!!!!!he ran for cover and called the cops they came.busted the theif and shut down his ghay party

27-03-06, 12:09 GMT+10#17 yeah the funny thing is the 450 was stock as a rock when it was stolen.it was an 04 or something and when it came out it had new graphics seat cover plastics black rims etc and new exhaust so the guy spent heaps on it./ he then asked the cops if he could have his parts that he put on it back hahahahhahaa ofcourse they refused it.and the vlt was recvoered but the engine was missing minor parts so my guess is the dude was selling em to mates or soemthing
