does anyone know the part no. for the AC Delco hi volume intank pump and is it a direct fit without any modification? are there any other brands that make hi volume intank pumps for the vl? the problem is, i went to coventry's today and asked about it and they reckon they didn't know delco had fuel pumps and tried to sell me another pump that wasn't a direct fit. any help would be appreciated. thanks Rhys

just stick with the standard in tank pump and upgrade the high pressure external. you may need to run a surge tank if you do this. it's to much of a sh1t fight to fit a larger pump in a vl tank.

i meant a low pressure intank pump to feed a surge tank, need something that will keep up with an 044, or what's another way of doing it while keeping the standard intank pump.

many people say that the standard internal fuel pump is sufficient to feed the surge tank and keep up with the 044. remember that there is (depending on your surge tank) probably between 1-2ltrs of fuel in your surge tank, and i doubt that you will be hard on the gas long enuf to use up all of this in one go. do a search and you will see what i mean. or even post up a question to see what people are using to feed their surge tanks

part no is 11004 it is a direct replacement for the standard internal VL unit and requires no mods to fit apparently it pumps 5ltrs/min make sure you get a new 'filter sock' that goes on the pickup side as chances are your original one is ripped. Give Petroject a call 1300 304 060 They should be able to help Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

^^What he said.......but it will only pump 5ltrs/min while fully imersed in fuel. So in a VL somewhere between 1/2 and 1/4 tank, it will start to suck air and not keep up with the likes of an 044. The 044 will start to get noisy when this happens...not good for it's reliability me thinks. I tried to do the same as you're trying to do, purely because i did not want a surge tank in the boot. Unfortunately i don't think it can be done without one using the stock VL tank. My solution was to make a surge tank which mounts under the car just in front of the diff. I'd guess the stock intank pump would suffice with a surge tank. Remember the fuel returned from the engine goes into the surge tank, so it dosn't have to be lifted out of the tank again.

i am going to use a surge tank, just didn't think the standard internal pump would keep up as i didn't want to plumb the return line into the surge

Just wondering what setup you are running 30lct5spd? I know you are using an 044 pump, but with what engine setup?

my motor will be getting a forged rebuild in a couple of weeks and i'm not using an 044 atm. i'm eventually going to be using a gt3540 with the .82 rear, plenum and the rest of the stuff that goes with it. my inernal pump is getting old so i thought i'd replace it, but since i'll be using an 044 later, i thought i may aswell get a hi volume one instead of having to replace it again later when i use the 044.

how much are the carter high volume lift/internal pumps and do they fit straight into the same spot as the standard internal pump?
