hey guys asking for your expertice on this one. Ive got an 86 VL commodore that runs quite well even though shes done 350 000 k's. The problem is when i rev the engine...even just the tiniest bit i get a puff of WHITE smoke out of the exhaust. But when i took it for a test drive when i got it it was runnin beautiful...now its like what the f**k. First i thought that the fuel and air mixture was wrong but one of my mates told me it could be that the heads cracked. has anyone experienced this before and got some advice on maybe how to fix it?? thanks guys

Are you losing coolant? White smoke (Steam) is usually a tell tale sign of a cracked head/ Gasket.

Mine done the same, it was the head gasket.Check under the oil filler cap for milky oil, and monitor your water loss. If you find both of these pull the head off and send it to be tested and re-surfaced. PS VN's sound like sh.it(I like VP auto's")
