It's not realy that much of a hassle unless you are going to change to the turbo oil pump as well. Then you need to be realy tricky and change the pump with the engine still in the car or pull the engine out (which is easier I think). Doing the conversion also gives you a change to replace things that are worn or leaking, like a water pump for example. I've just done the conversion and it cost me around $1400 all the necessary gear for the conversion (turbo, exhaust manifold, turbo head gasket, injectors, ect....) In the end I spent around $2450 in total because I also changed the oil pump, water pump, tensioner pully, got a new head (old one was cracked like a mofo ), sports clutch, all new gaskets and seals for everything. So now I have a completely re-sealed motor with all new or freshed up parts. So I'm happy. In order of tools required for the job, you obviously need a basic spanner and socket set, torque wrench, harmonic balancer pully, engine crane and stand (if going to pull motor out). Hope that makes it easier to decide. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Iv also been thinking about doing the conversion. if i did i was gonna get a front mount as well. would it be better to get custom pipes made up or would i be able to use the factory turb crossover pipes and etc??? It might be easier just getting custom anyways, cause i can't seem to get all the factory turb parts in nz.......

all you need is the x over pipe, turbo=+manifold, water and oil lines, dump pipe, injectors, ecu, fuel pump. run stock boost and you will be loving it, for a while anyway, then you can add a cooler and boost it to about 10 12 psi. i use the turbo cam for the 5 degrees more lift and duration, couldn`t run 15 without it detonating with the na cam.
