Nothing is ever easy! Tonight at about 8pm the hard drive in 'calais' (our origional server) decided it didn't want to live anymore, and died, leaving everything in a fairly farked state. Anyway, in an extreme case of luck, our second server which recently came online (called 'HDT') was already running the database anyway, so i've just spent a few hours trying to salvage the backups off the old server and get everything running again, some attachments/avatars won't be showing for a little while. The good news is absolutly nothing was lost. Probably some people will need to wait a few hours for the DNS to propogate if the site isn't working yet, but that will all depend on your ISP. The new server is a dual xeon with 400gb of space and running 64bit linux, so hopefully it will make things noticably faster than before when lots of people are on at the same time! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

On the downside, my site is still down. Haha
