nothing i've got a crow cam stage 2 and i only hade to change my valve springs. crow cams will tell you the right valve springs to suit the cam. As far as i know will only machine the lifter block if you go for a crow cam stage 3 and above.

About .030"would be enough. .040" is what you take off for the bigger grinds (like .480" lift at the valve)

So you reckon 30thou would be enough, i'll get some lifter blocks machined tomorrow, put them in and see what happens. The stage 1 crow cam has (.4378) lift at inlet valve and (.4501) lift at the exhaust valve.

I got 30thou removed of the lifter blocks but the lifters are still noisy When you start the car (cold) the lifters are quiet, but when the car reaches normal operating temp (oil thins) the lifters go spastic The car has a brand new oil pump in it so oil pressure isn't an issue. Also tried thicker oils and thiner oils but same sh|t Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Pull the lifters out and give them a clean- a small screwdriver will pop the top clip out no worries and the rest falls out. clean them in kero and make sure they aren't scratched or anything and put them back together. Bleed them with a bit of oil and try again. Apart from that- take the cam back.
