Are RB20 injectors the same as VLT injectors??
I did a search and came up with

the early RB20DET NICS injectors are the same as the RB30ET ones.

WHATS TRUE???
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
In a word no.
RB20DET (Silver Top ECCS Engine) are 270CC and are high impedence.
So whilst the flow rating 270CC (vs RB30ET 250/260) is close to the same, the real issue will be impedence.
If you want to run them with the standard VL turbo ecu, it will not work properly.
Red Top was available in ECCS and NICS version.
I can only go on what has been said by natho and that is that the NICS version red top has the same injectors as the rb30et.
Sounds plausible, but can't confirm either way.
Someone on r31skylineclub.com forums must know, plenty of red top owners there.
Are VLT injectors really that hard to find? Or do you have something else in mind?
i believe that yes this is still posible, most ECU's can accomodate a %10 change in the injector flow rate to compansate for when they get old and blocked up a little. Now with this being the case 250cc upto 270cc is possible.
As for the impediance difference this setup is also still possible, If your computer is setup to run low impedience injectors you can run either high or low injectors but if your computer is setup for high impedience then you can only run high impedience injectors.
Therfore if the RB20 injectors are 270cc and high impedience i would suggest they would be a perfect upgrade to someone still wanting to use the original turbo ECU with out getting it reprogrammed.
i agree with the above..
high impedance, so less current draw.
the only thing to worry about would be the response and charecteristics of the new injector.
the 270cc injectors might be too fat in the lower end of the curve. or the spray pattern might be incorrect.
best way is to give a vlt and the rb20 injector to an injector cleaning mob and have them compare the 2.
keep us posted of what you do........
I know I'm bringing up an old one but does anyone have any concrete evidence on this stuff. In short I'm going to turbo my N/A block and want to run a bit rich for some added safety. Is it possible with factory turbo ECU?
