Ok so I found out that it is a revered thread.
But how the **** do I get it off.
Without a charged battery to do the 'crank her over mate' method.
I've got a monster of a breaker bar but the thing just keeps roling forward.
Give me ideas guys.

Put blocks infront of the wheels, leave it in gear and do up the handbreak. Thats how I did it.

not reversed thread. Get a long breaker bar, socket on the front.
Heres a good trick to get stuborn vl balancer bolt undone. Grab a rag, place it on the passenger side chassis rail, rest the breaker on the chassis rail. Tap and i mean tap the starter (disconnect coil first) And it will crack the nut for you using the torque of the starter motor. Always works...

Mine is an auto, but I use a large flathead screwdriver in one hand to block the flexplate from turning and use my other hand to turn the breaker bar.

hahaha whoops. Looks like I must have tightened the **** out of it.
I had 4 boys all hanging off a huge breaker bar with blocks in front of the wheels and a mate with both feet on the brakes.
Well now that I know it's NOT reversed thread then I'll try again.... hahaha.
Thanks guys.

Taking it off so that I can get the cam timing correct.
I was under the impression that I need to take it off so that I can see the marking on the bottom gear thing then count the teeth on the timing belt to get it correct.

Yeah if you need to check the number of timing belt teath between the mark on the cam gear and the crank gear, then yes you need to pull the bottom cover off, which requires you to pull the ballancer off.
Good luck.

You could always buy a cheap one at repco for around $15-$20. They work good and are nice and cheap.

Quickest and easiest way, rattle gun and puller.
Two seconds and its done. Remember its a right hand thread.

Not if your going the wrong way. Could have been two grand maybe to get the snapped bolt out and re thread the crank while its out. Happened to me on the diff center bolts.
