No ****! All them came with non-turbos. I'm just wondering what the hdt vl models there are!!!!!!! So far there are the Nitron (which only 500 were made) and the le calais.
There was also the HDT sport. and possible the Signature Group 3. Probably they were eights though.
But I do have a feeling that the Calais LE was the only on with a 6.
Brock generally only put his name on the eights.
EDIT - Never heard of the Nitron. Any info or pics or links?
VL Nitron was just one of those special edition things engineered up to shift unwanted stock, like Formula Berlinas. You will not be able to but a Factory 5 Speed Non-turbo Calais, they don't exist, even HDT LE models.
hehe i got a 5 speed calais.....
ive had hte car for 3 weeks, nearly gone through gearbox number 2....
these manuals are nothing like toploaders! grrrr
If you are looking for a Manual HDT VL n/a then this doesn't leave many cars to choose from as most are so rare you hardly ever see them for sale.
With 3L 5spd only the following were available
Corsa (SL and Berlina)
Sport (SL and Berlina)
Sandown (SL)
Designer Series (SL and Berlina)
It is also possible that a Calais Wagon could have been converted from a 3L 5spd berlina Wagon but very very unlikely and chances are it wouldn't have received HDT status any way.
The only Calais based models to recieve a manual gearbox were theTurbo Calais LE and Sport's along with V8 Calais based Sport's and Directors with the optional T5G and of course any Berlina model converted into a Calais Wagon.
The Nitron never was and never will be a HDT model so if your looking for a HDT then steer clear. If you want a nice unusual dealer special then go the Nitron.
Formula was the name used by Holden back then for dress up kits (now known as Holden by Design) and was available accross the Holden range of passenger cars. It had nothing to do with HDT in any way other than eating into their market.
Corsa
All Nitrons were fitted with Polarizer's. They also had a HDT Momo Steering wheel, 15" Aero rims (as used on VK SS) and a minor HDT bodykit. These parts were supplied for fitment to the Victorian Country Dealer group that sold them new.

hey corsa mate, my formula had a hdt improved sticker on the back of it since new (old owner took it off)
it has no other plates or anything saying hdt anyway
is their anyway i can find out the work that has been done to it?
dimples if it was ever destined to be a HDT it would have a HDT badge in the engine bay. Umm you may be able to find the option codes on the piece of paper under the carpet...
Im not sure how HDT recorded their options...

HDT Improved stickers were a VH and early VK thing, mainly used on ADP's. The Corsa, LE and Sport models were essentially the VL replacements for ADP's and none of these wore a HDT improved sticker. Mid VK HDT changed it's logo colours from red and black to red and blue and you'll find the HDT improved sticker was only available in red and black which would be the reason they were not used for VL's.
The Formula packs when first released were something that Brock was not happy with as it meant that the factory was competing with HDT for market share although the Formula's were restricted to being dress up kits only. As such all the Formula parts were different to HDT parts. The front lip and rear wing were essentialy the same items HSV later used on the SV88. I know that a few formulas now run LE fibreglass wings as HDT have sold quite a few to dealers trying to source the rubber wings that are long since obsolete. I have also seen a Formula with a HDT Group A front bar but as the Group A's were technically Holdens (contract builds) then any Holden dealer could order one and fit it as part of the Formula package if they wished.
So the chances of HDT having seen your car are not very good unless yours was the one i saw in their carpark buying an LE rear wing to replace the damaged rubber one.
Corsa
nah havnt got a rear spoiler (yet lol) the sticker was up on the drivers side of the boot lid, im guessing it was the same colour as the rest of the formula stickers (red)
damn i wish the old owner took pics b4 he took all the stickers off
