i got 6 psi with cooler and exhaust but im lookn at getting a new turbo box cose the engine si gettign rebuilt atm and im going for bout 190 200 rwkw on bout 11,12psi so i dont think a n/a box will hold up with that power

Anyone remember CGMFLY's old White VL doing low 11's with stock auto trans bar the convertor! Mines only had 149RWKW pumped through it had no dramas but mines not a race car anyway.

04-02-06, 12:23 GMT+10#15 If your stalling it everynow and then it wouldnt hurt to get an external trans cooler - which will still be good for the vlt box too when you get one.
Think I paid $125 for mine and about another $20.00 for hoses.

04-02-06, 20:03 GMT+10#16 My auto box was fine at 6psi standard, Once i got a cooler exhaust etc and 13psi, didnt last to long. 1st gear started slipping heaps 2nd was ok, 3 started slipping to and didnt really have a 4th gear (overdrive). So in the end just got it fully rebuilt with high stall and its fine now.

07-02-06, 08:06 GMT+10#17 Mine lasted about 2 days in the torana... When I pulled it out after having blown it up everything inside the trans was sloppy and bits were all out of alignment. Not sure what power I was making though, as the car still hasn't been dyno'd...

07-02-06, 17:00 GMT+10#20 david i say don't go the VLT / Mx7 box...
spend the 2k on the full setup RB25-t gearbox.
twin syncro 1st 2nd 3rd.
will not die.
Box
Folk
Master Cylender
Tailshaft
Bolts
Shifter
$2000. give or take.
only thin u have to modify is.
the shifter must be bent 10mm forwards or it'll hit ur Handbrake.
and
the sandwitch plate starter motor hole has to be moved 8mm to the right...
your converting from auto to manual or my example it'll cost u a little more
$600 Clutch
$200 flywheel (i say Spend the extra $400 and get a Lightened one)
