Hey everyone, Im nearly 18 and just got my first car. Im a huge fan of the VL so ofcourse i had to have one. I didnt pay much for it because its not in the best condition but the engine is basically brand new. Ive saved a fair bit of money and have decided to do this baby up and make it a real head turner. Alrite getting Kenwood MP3 Head Deck and Kenwood 500w 7x10's this week. Ive just replaced the front bumper with a new one and put VL Berlina tail lights and VK Berlina center garnish. Ive also been talking to a mate and hes willing to swap me and original LE HDT bodykit for all my bumpers, calais door moulds and side skirts so my baby might be bodykitted soon. Im also thinking of going out this weekend and getting the calais pop up assembly and getting some paint to respray the car Alpine White. Ill be posting new pics soon as the car starts to take shape. Alrite by the sounds of things im getting the bodykit this week and should be getting the pop ups really soon. Progress is moving pretty slow but its coming together. I'll be posting new pics soon once the kit & pop ups are on and abit more work is done to the car so watch this thread. Oh heres a new pic. I converted the back from commodore to berlina, thats as much as ive done lately Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

good work mate.. Dont give up, just take it easy and asoon as u look over ur shoulder ur car will be a sweet cruzer... other words slow and steady wins the race!

AHHH! so much work to be done! Unfortunately this project is moving really slowly due to going back to Uni, money starting to get low and just no time. Ive decided to put the pop ups on hold as they aint that cheap and im running low on cash. Ive also hit a bump in the road the guy im getting the bodykit off has two kits....A LE Kit and a Brocky Kit. Im heading more towards the LE because its more simple and sleek then the Brocky kit. Well anyways ill be posting pics within the next month or so because im hoping to have it somewhat finished and in RWC by the time im 18. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Stick with it mate.... Go the LE kit, rather than the other kit.

Alrite peoples i thought id give you's an update on whats going on. I got the LE kit but i thought id do something a little different and got a brock front bumper instead of the LE front bumper. At the moment i have to do a repsray of the kit and ill take pics and post it when its done.

Thanks everyone for the feedback i appreciate it. I thought id post some picks of the kits to give you an idea of what it looks likes and the work that has to be done befor i put it on my car. Im quite happy with the way things are going now, shouldnt be to like befor my baby's on the road. Front Brock Bumper LE Rear Bumper Side Skirts, Door Moulds & Boot Spoiler Let me know what you think. They aint looking the best at the moment but with a little tlc and resprayed in alpine white they should come up shmick. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i know its not really progress but i decided my car is looking plain with no badges at all so i went down to the local dealership and brought a vs badge to put on the front. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

WOW! this thread hasnt moved in ages... thought id give you's a little update I have recently found work so more funds for my project. Ill be getting a new battery this week to run my sound system as my battery at the moment keeps dying in the ass and i have to charge it all the time Next will be the custom parcel shelf and boot so i can set my sounds system up for maximum bass and get some nice subby's in the boot. Last and not least will be the bodykit... probably gonna be hardest part caus it needs some cracks fixed with a fibre glass repair kit, needs to be primed and then sprayed.. but hopefully she'll be done in the next month So keep on eye on this thread guys Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Ok the latest news is the car will be sanded back, any dints will be fixed and smoothed and the car will under go a total respray. Ive decided that as soon as im ready im gonna sell it. As much as its my first car and its gonna be sad to part with it after so much money and effort has gone into it but ahh well i can mod it as much as i want and its still not gonna be a calais. So ive decided to sell it when its all finished and i want to buy a Series 2 Calais Turbo..... So anybody have what im looking for or know someone who does thats thinking about selling it sometime soon hit me with a pm...... Im looking at spending around $8,000. Also hit me up if your interested in a 1986 VL Commodore SL *3xx,xxx kms (Not to sure.
