I think your biggest problem with be the computer that controls it, and the fact that the auto computer talks to the engine computer.
There is a story in Zoom about an skyline gtr transplant a about a year ago, they went into the problems with the computer and the auto.

that was the GTR motor into an R33 gt 4 door wasnt it? And they ran the r33 auto box? From memory it lasted one drive on 12psi with a stock motor...why the hell would you want one of those boxes haha

if you're going auto save the trouble and buy a worked jatco or a trimatic or whatever.
then again you could learn to drive manual

Better to build a VL box, because they are hydraulic and bascially can run without the basic shift computer they have.
The R31 Series 3, R33, R34 auto's are all Jatcos but are full computer electronically controlled so without the ecu, that will also need the engine ecu its probally not going to work real sucessfully.

r33 autos are exactly the same as series 3s 31s so you would be better off saving your money and buying one from a 31 and getting it modified rather than going for a 33 box. The shift computer can also be recalibrated to shift better etc. not sure about what goes on with the computer in regards to it connecting with the ecu but it cant be too hard to change.

Don't knock the later model JATCO- RE4 series. They are a good thing, pity its a big bulky bugger. Tunnel mods for sure.
We have finished Full Manuals for these that bypass the ECU so no wiring issues there.
Like any standard transmission, they need internal work to make them survive boost and heavy right feet.

as these boxes are fully electronic does that mean you can simply mod the wiring to make it full manual or do you still have to change the valve body?
And so you think they are good boxes? Are they stronger than a VN commodore V6 auto box?
Thanks
Thanks

29-01-11, 23:51 GMT+10#14 We offer 2 versions of Valve Body, 1 requires a 12V signal for 4th (P-R-N-3/4-2-1) and the other doesnt (P-R-N-4-3-2-1)
The electric 4th allows for retro fitting into Nissan Cars.
There are 2 sizes of RE trans- 1A and the 3A.
With mods the 1A is good for 600HP and the 3A 850-900HP.
We fit RE4R03A's into Turbo Falcons.
We are turning the keas website back on shortly and will list all our products and customers.
We are probably going to catch out some shops out there claiming our work as there own.

Thanks jason
