I was just wondering what your thoughts are on the following.IF you had a immaculate very low klm walky(under 10 000) in total original condition but felt the front bar and lower spoilers could do with a respray to fix up the stone chips.Would this be a bad move sinse your respraying a part of the car or do you think becouse its only the spoilers it would not effect the originality of the vehicle and therefor keep its value high. What do you think?

If your only freshening it up, its only restoring it to its best condition. I recently had my lower bodykit redone with stone guard after talking to HSV and them informing me they were all originally finished that way (someone had repainted it smooth somewhere along the line). On the other hand a mate of mine had a completely original walkinshaw as well (6000km) and he chose to keep the stone chips on it as he used to enter it into competitions as an unrestored car.

Hey Guys, My Walkinshaw now has 19,000km and still have the original Bridgestone RE71 on it, I have some very minor stonechips on the front bar and I was also considering getting it resprayed but have decided to leave the car as is because the rest of the car has never been touched. Also if you have the lower lip on your car its most likely to get scratched again within a short period of time. Do you have a Car Bra that you can use to reduce the chances of any more stone chips occuring. Jason

Jason, CarBra Australia used to have them. They had them to fit either with or without the lower lip. From memory it was somewhere between $300- $400. Carl

Here's a good solution for you. Invest in another bar and lower spoilers, fit them to the car, and keep your originals in storage. Even though it won't be a cheap solution it might pay off for you investment-wise in the future. It'll also give you peace of mind as long-term unrestored originality appears to be very important to you.

respray the whole car and clean it right up. Money shouldn't be an issue when you own a walky!
