hey guys n girls, i just finished installing my turbosmart turbo timer, so i didnt know if a tech article was done already so i made one for u all pic of turbo timer.... step 1 disconnect the battery before undertaking ANY electrical work step 2 there are 5 wires as you can see by the picture, red, blue, white, black and yellow, the red one is for constant ( battery ) power, blue and white are to be wired into the ignition, yellow is for the park/neutral safety switch ( i think ) and black is earth.... step 3 unplug the harness to the ignition barrell and sort out your wires.. the pink wire that is cut, is the wire that the blue and white must be wired into, it is the pink wire off the harness as shown in the next pic step 4 next is to source a constant power wire, i chose to use the one for the immobiliser unit as it runs off the RED wire on the ignition harness... step 5 next is to wire the unit upto the wires that have been chosen... red wire from unit goes to the red one from the ignition harness.. white wire must go to the harness side of the pink wire, the blue one must go to the longer end of the pink wire that was cut.. black needs to be earthed, use the bolt that holds the earthed wire ion the steering column.. yellow is a wire for an auxilary source ( park/neutral safety switch, handbrake ( i think so anyway, if unsure, dont wire it up )) step 6 choose the location for the external control unit ( supplied ) hope that helps everyone, any timer should have the same color wires for the same purpose.. i know the way it was written sounds confusing but there are pics supplied so you can read them also.. dale Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

good stuff i had the same timer, but it had a board that plugged in front of the ign plug so there was no wiring needed. i think it was before microtech bought them. good timer with the basic essentials and thats it.

Nice article. Im pretty sure the yellow one is for the handbrake, so when its released the timer cuts out and shuts down the car so nobody can steal it while the turbo timer is running.

People should also note that turbo timers are illegal in SA and possibly other states.
