Well Stage 1 for me is almost complete in my car... It doesnt look like much, But alot of money, sweat and even blood has gone into getting it this far. Lol When I bought the car almost 12 months ago, all that was done was exhaust and whiteline suspension (both still in the car). It had a ****ty intercooler truck cut which i have now ditched for a hybrid style 600x300x75 cooler with stainless steel piping (needs a polish). It also had a rebuilt and strengthened gearbox with a 2500rpm stallie which failed recently and has been replaced with a Dominator 2800rpm stallie It also had the highflow turbo and VY hubcaps and a few other little small things which have mostly been replaced So far I have put around $10K into this car, and for now, this is as far as i want to go so i can start saving money for a deposit on a house But a few little things here and there wont hurt the bank too much As it is now... 1987/1988 VL GENUINE Calais Turbo Series II Exterior: - All white in colour. - Lowered on Whiteline Suspension (Receipts) - Solex Locks - 18" Pro-V Mags in Shadow Chrome (mid 2005) - 5% Window Tint done at Superior Window Tint (mid 2005) - "1ShyVL" Plates - Sourced out missing chrome calais strips Interior: - Blue Velour mixture of Series 1 and Series II Interior - Walkinshaw Steering wheel - Splitfire 5" monster tacho (mid 2005) - Splitfire Boost Guage (mid 2005) - B.E.S Turbo-timer (soon to be replaced with HKS Electric turbo timer) - Central locking - Soundstream 6x9" Speakers - Alpine Amplifier (mid 2005) - Alpine 7" In-dash TV (mid 2005) - 2xClarion 5" TV's In head-rests (mid 2005) - Chequer Plate Floor Mats - Power Window Switches Re-built (mid 2005) - Replaced Ignition Barrel (mid 2005) Drive-train etc: - Rebuilt Gearbox with 2500RPM Stall Converter (Receipts) - Blew up stall converter in august 2005 replaced with Dominator 2800rpm highstall. - 3" Turbo-back exhaust - GFB Atomic Bomb Boost controller - T03 Turbo Highflowed (T04 front end, T04 Internals, T03 Rear) - VL Turbo Brake Disk's with Bendix Advance Brake Pads (mid 2005) - Replaced Borshe Fuel Pump (mid 2005) - Replaced CAS (mid 2005) - Respray on Rocker Cover (mid 2005) - Oil Catch Can (mid 2005) - K&N Pod Filter (mid 2005) - Replaced Ignition Leads with Eagle 8.0mm (mid 2005) - Replaced Spark Plugs (8.0mm - mid 2005) - Standard LSD - New Valve Modulator in gearbox (October 2005) - Hybrid Style Intercooler (600x300x75) with stainless steel piping (2.5") (October 2005) Misc: - Alarm with Immobiliser - Central Locking - Calais Boot Carpet - Smiley face hanging from rear-view mirror Future Mods (to complete stage 1): - Re-trimming glovebox lid, Center console lid and steering wheel - Removal of "Calais" badge on passenger side rear bootlid (Old owner done it) - New DVD Player - Installation of HKS turbo timer - Polish up intercooler piping - Tidy up engine bay - Subs in the boot - Shift kit - More speakers Well thats pretty much it for now... Here are a few pictures. And the best thing of all time...TURBO.. This is how the car was when I was inspecting it before purchase... Sorry about the size of the pictures guys! So thanks for looking Yeah i got old photos of the engine bay with the old intercooler piping (no new photos of the new piping until it gets polished up)... This is how it was when i was inspecting the car before purchase And this is how it was before the new intercooler piping. Its amazing what a spraycan and a bit of elbow grease does And my favourite picture of her with the hubcaps on I guess they helped the sleeper effect... now i just need some power to add! LOL Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
