Mine cost me $3500 with stall shifter oil cooler everything to handle 800-900 h/p. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

What motor is a s12? Tell us more about the motor first... Might be a bad idea if it's not a torquey motor.

you want to be putting out alot of HP to get full use of the powerglide, as for drivabillity on the street it comes down to stall size etc but if you are goin to drive it on the street/daily driver get a JATCO or trimatic etc xbt106 - who built your powerglide for that price?

I'd like to know where you got that from ... i assume that wasnt with the convertor ... because the cheapest and pretty much standard price i was given was $2500 for the box itself with transbrake, full manual valve body, etc warranted to 1000 hp ... and an extra $1000 for custom convertor and $500 for bell housing Shifter and oil cooler extra additional ... Quote: What motor is a s12? Tell us more about the motor first... Might be a bad idea if it's not a torquey motor No problems. Its got alot more torque than an RB30 thats for sure ... its a VH45DE nissan 4.5 litre quad cam V8 ... will be closer to 5 litres though and has a small turbo on it (for the size of the motor) ... GT42RS 1000 hp The car will only be street driven occasionally ... i have a charade turbo as a daily Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the glide worked well on the street for me,the only down fall is taking off from the light,i had a 5200rpm stall and it use to set of car alarms and turns heads cause it screams just to get you moving, but works a treat,on the highway i sat on about 3800-4000rpm at 100klm.

does the bonnet close? haha also where is the turbo going, i presume up on the drivers side at the front there? crossing the other bank of cylinders over underneath or behind the engine? if i was to do an eight, it'd be one of these with two turbos. two is just easier.

"because the cheapest and pretty much standard price i was given was $2500 for the box itself with transbrake, full manual valve body, etc warranted to 1000 hp ... and an extra $1000 for custom convertor and $500 for bell housing" is that including installation ?? so what are the advantages/disadvantages of having a glide on the street compared to a worked 3 speed jatco ??

Yes ... both do! one has a hole in it for the plenum to stick out through and the other has a buldge moulded in it Quote: haha also where is the turbo going, i presume up on the drivers side at the front there? crossing the other bank of cylinders over underneath or behind the engine? if i was to do an eight, it'd be one of these with two turbos. two is just easier Behind the drivers side headlight yes ... passenger side runners go underneath the engine Twins is not easier ... intercooler setup becomes a pain in the arse, intercooler piping becomes a pain in the arse ... extra oil lines and returns, lack of ROOM for two turbo's ... Twins is a pain in the arse mate Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I know this is a relatively old thread but what else do ppl have to say about the glide being used on the street. Is 3800-4000rpm on the highway at 100km/h bad? (taking into consideration the engine is built to handle alot of power). Also how does the vl turbi rear end hold up?
