I have made a rear parcel shelf in which i installed some phillips speakers which are now about 10years old. These speakers and set up has been great for what they were. however seems i've finally blown one of the speakers. my dilemma is this: The speakers are an unusual size - 8 inches round so i've obviously cut holes in the parcel shelf to fit. Most 3-way speakers are 6x9inches which would mean i'd have to make up another parcel shelf - not a big hassle, just a bit of time and money. i saw some speakers at autobarn the other day - VDO. They are 8inches round and sound pretty good, at $200 or there abouts i thought they might be okay also. not having much to do with car audio i would appreciate a bit of advice here. thanks in advance.

if you not looking for a really loud sound system, VDOs will be fine

nothing wrong with VDO if ur not a complete audio nut, specially if its a straight swap over, less hassle. A small amp on them should b fine as well, as long as u have ur gains tuned properly... ush
