Just had the VL dynoed today and was suprised after a quick tune up and a few adjustments in timing i got 135 rwkw (180hp)
The engines stock bar manifold and carby. I dont know what you think but i think thats prety good.

just carby/intake mods, the rest is an unopened VL 304?
thats fantastic if so, considering they only made about 122kw at the engine when new

Nice, be torquey to hey? Must have a decent exhaust/extractor combo on it?

yep the only mods iv done is 650 DP holley. performer manifold and the extractors that the cops had on it. The next thing to do is get pacemakers and a decent exhaust thinking 3" single.

Yeah ive got twin 2.5" outta the pacies, to single three inch...
all depend on future mods on what size to go..

Ive got a single 2.5" from a set of pacies... no need for me to upgrade that until i do some engine work methinks.

yeh the reason for the 3" is the posible up grade to a strocker engine 355 or 383.

in about 1985 when international group A rules changed it required the V8s to be under 5.0 litres, so they went from 5044 or what ever to about 4950 or something... thus 308 to 304 midway through the VK's life, and any holden V8 after that was a 304

22-08-05, 17:43 GMT+10#16 good stuff! how many K's has it done?
all you need now are some ported VN heads or L34 spec 308 heads and a cam and you'll be set for some more decent horsepower!

they are a 304 because of the group A race Cars. had to been under 5 litres so they destroked them to 4987cc so thats why they are 304s also they run unleaded as standard not like the 308.

Now I know im pretty new to all this stuff...
But, arent L34 Spec 308 head's PRE-Polluction.
And 304's come with the pollution gear, Will this work, and just be illegal, or will it not work at all.
