This is my 1986 Holden Calais Turbo. I bought it off a young guy that really didnt care about the car but claimed the opposite. It needed lots of work and care. But I bought it because it had all the features I wanted in a Calais.
I wanted grey interior; original drivetrain, including MX7 gearbox; front mount intercooler; no major hideous mods; red, white, or light blue paint;
Since owning it I have:
Removed 100ks of unwanted wiring from under the dash
Fixed the seized head light lids
Fitted std steering wheel (sports steering wheel was too small & obscured the instruments, wheel courtesy of Bextor84)
Fitted one of Mikes fuse rails (they rock!!!) For one of these fuse rails send a PM to Mike_M and ask if he has any left. Their worth at least $100.
Added a mod to control the head light lids regardless of head lights on/off
Fitted new springs, replaced some suspension bushes that were stuffed
 New front shocks
Re fitted all the PCV and fuel vapour/canister hoses
Removed a faulty XF throttle body with std item (didnt need one not running that much boost,)
Had to replace the plenum chamber to fit std TB (courtesy of Scott, 87calais)
Rebuilt the engine wiring harness (Was a Big job!!!)
Added a muffler to the 3 exhaust
New front bumper bar (old one was missing the front to show off the intercooler)
 Replace the rear centre garnish
Refit all the badges & chrome strips (not yet complete waiting for paint respray, chrome strips courtesy of Sadistik)
 Fixed broken speedo
 Fitted walkinshaw wheels
 Rebuilt the tail shaft
Fitted all new ignition plugs, leads, rotor cap and button assys
Fixed dodgy battery harness (bought a good set from QFFTAP)
Fitted std air box (to install a cold air intake under the box later)
 Fitted VY brakes. master cyl/booster
Premier exhaust redesigned intake piping and fitted new plumb back Bosch BOV
Thats it so far.
I also need:
 Rebuild the diff
Remove rust from front & rear windows
 New interior carpet.
New dump pipe - exhaust mod to open up the dump pipe off the back of the turbo for better flow.
Reinstall air con core in front of car and regas air con (before summer).
 New headlights and taillights.
Some of my later mods will be:
VR/VS power window switches into another centre console.
A cold air intake under the air box.
 A bigger turbo.
Whole new paint job from the ground up.
More security mods, sorry wont be elaborating on those.
Some of the specs are:
 Front mount intercooler
Turbosmart boost controller, Running 9 and 14psi
 Plumb back BOV
 Walky wheels
 Instrument mods
 Controllable lids
 Grey interior
 Thermo fan
 Bonnet gas struts
 Full 3 exhaust
 VY brakes
Well thats about it.

very nice car dude
intrigued by the master cyl and booster swap. have u ever driven a car that had vt brakes but still used the vlt cyl/booster , if so how much better does urs feel.
also , have u braced the cylindar to the shock tower , does it flex under braking etc?

No, I changed the master cyl/booster before it went on the road. Sorry, so no I don't know.
I made up a braket out of stainless steel and fitted it before it went out the garage.
I changed the pic in the first post to show the bracket fitted (removed the pic of before the bracket was installed).
Thanks for ya comments
Cheers

Hi guys, sorry to take so long to get back to ya's. I was away when ya's posted your messages and xmas and the new year has been good to me.
The car is slowly getting there, I finished off the intercooler piping and got a stereo into it finally. Still have to replace the clutch though.

15-01-06, 23:11 GMT+10#11 Hey BT, Yep it is. Mike_M on here sells them and athough I am an avionic tech (airplane electrician to put it bluntly) if you can use a pair of crimpers you can do it. Just make sure as you do each one that its crimped right and the wire wont come out and you will be right. Oh and transfer one wire across at a time.
MadVK308, cheers for the comments, yep it's orig. Although the gearbox had seen better days when it was young. The last two owners flogged it a bit.

Changed the diff oil and while I was there took some pics of the diff.
Must have had a rebuild some time ago (long before I bought the car).

Also, Traded the ****box AU2 for a VZ wagon (to fit the family in) just before xmas too. Got Altapac to tint the windows today, looks mad! new pic soon.
